Johanna Londinium by Thomas Knights for Purple Reign

To tease the launch of Purple Reign – an art exhibition of LGBT & straight ally role models by InterLaw Diversity Forum founder Daniel Winterfeldt and photographer Thomas Knights. Thomas Knights has directed a trailer starring Johanna Londinium featuring Lucia di Lammermoor’s Diva Dance (best known as the opera track from The 5th Element).

The exhibition is on now until 7th July at 1 Silver Place, SOHO, W1F 0JW. For more information click here. Purple Reign features prolific LGBT icons including Sir Ian McKellen.

Room Service: The Werk Out

‘The Werk Out’ stands strong as the fifth instalment of a set of short films from Jodie Harsh and Thomas Knights for the most creative cult club night in the world right now. Since we saw the transatlantic fourth film late last year, Room Service has officially expanded globally to New York, Tel Aviv, Paris, Amsterdam, Las Vegas and more – defining the club night as not only the place to be and be seen, but the place to be and be seen…globally. It attracts the world’s most recognised fashion designers, influential photographers, industry creatives, pop stars, producers, actors, models and not to mention the most beautiful people you could possibly experience (even without photoshop, here’s proof) in one place. With that in mind, it is only fitting that the accompanying promo films are just as slick and style-led, bringing to life everything that the brand stands for. Jodie Harsh is a genius.

What you are about to see transcends the first four films, taking the vision into a more conceptual space starring Jodie Harsh, Scottee and Adam Von Rothfelder (who is wearing Ada + Nik). Think of it as True Blood meets your ultimate gym fantasy with a cameo from the Queen of Pop (I kid you not). The track playing is Mariah Please by Kris Di Angelis – available now on iTunes.

Ada + Nik SS14 Campaign as interpreted by Artbyskings

Illustrator, graphic novelist and visual artist Matt Skingsley/Artbyskings has created two illustrations inspired by the Spring Summer ’14 campaign for Ada + Nik (originally by Thomas Knights and myself). We always intended the campaign and film (below) to tell a story, but to see it illustrated in this graphic novel style just seems to add an extra dimension and realism to it. Matt is an extremely talented illustrator and you can check out more of his work here, featuring various pop icons.

Full Campaign + Film: Ada + Nik SS14

Yesterday, we unveiled the full collection, campaign and film for Ada + Nik Spring/Summer 2014.

Set in the heavens of the Greek Gods, three self involved narcissistic soldiers (wearing Ada + Nik swimwear) gaze at their own reflection in a pool of water listening to music (by Zebra Katz) on their Philips Fidelio M1s. The Snow Queen played by actress, model and presenter Zara Martin enters – practically floating on the clouds as she approaches the throne she summons a gift of Snow Queen Vodka from earth. She hands the bottle to The Snake King played by the inimitable Aiden Shaw and the snake “Cornflake”. Zara hisses, the boys then appear as if by magic in front of the throne – fully clothed in Ada + Nik. They then begin to gift their clothes to the King and Queen and fight each other for the clothes until one of the boys is left naked and alone. Credits under the cut.

The collection itself features ten unique pieces bringing to life my love adoration for a monochrome and minimalist luxe aesthetic, nodding to Ada’s previous collections.

The collection includes sheer and eel skin t-shirts, kilts, two pairs of leather detailed shorts, a leather detailed kilt, a statement biker jacket “Caesar”, open back structured dress shirts and calf leather cape; with accompanying swimwear and tank tops – all ethically sourced and produced.

You might need to look away if you’re uncomfortable with witnessing the disembowlment and subsequent taxidermying of a crow.

Maya’s debut album ‘Comfort’ is due early July.

Exhibition Preview: RED HOT by Thomas Knights

We’ve already seen a lot of the brilliant work from photographer and director Thomas Knights featured on KARLISMYUNKLE for artists and designers including Ada Zanditon, Hasan Hejazi, Ruby Goe, Marina and the Diamonds, Karin Park and of course the Room Service Sex Tapes; however now here’s a preview of ‘RED HOT’ – Thomas’ debut solo exhibition for a cause that is true to the artist’s heart.

‘Red Hot’ is set to premiere in London at the end of 2013 featuring a cast of high profile red headed individuals (models, actors, artists, royalty and more) in line with the Anti Bullying Alliance. Here’s a preview of Jake Hold (Elite), Jonny Burt (street cast) and Matt (New York Models) along with the official teaser video.

The fourth part of what has fast become a club night visual content phenomenon has arrived. London’s exclusive nightlife scene has never been so on point and this time it hits NYC. Going back to its roots (the brand was originally inspired by the NYC club landscape) comes Room Service: The Sextape Part 4 – filmed and based in NY with some of the city’s hottest talent and starring none other than creative, pioneer and DJ/producer extraordinaire Jodie Harsh. The eponymous brand hosts pop-up nights on the other side of the Atlantic, so stay tuned for more in 2013.

The track features is If You Ain’t Got Soul by Kris Di Angelis with fashion by Jeremy Scott for adidas, Chockers shoes, Slick It Up, Patricia Field, Charlie by Matthew Zinc, STUDmuffin and Vita E Liberta.

The campaign images by Tim Bret-Day for Hasan Hejazi’s capsule collection of three luxury evening dresses, inspired by Marina have arrived. In line with the creative of the fashion film (of which we saw a preview last week), the ‘Wedding Bells’ series truly highlights the incredible creative/muse relationship that Hasan and Marina have held over the last three years.
