The opus expands with poetic prowess and metaphorical depth as Allan Jamisen details notions of The Coalition. There is definite cinematic allure to the song, perfect for a Matrix movie, a sequel to Limitless, or even a Mission: Impossible film.

We appreciate the fierce nature of the lyrics and philosophical depth, detailed with an Eastern flute and record scratches! Lyrically, we learn that The Coalition is a pointed indictment of the interconnected forces of political authority, military power and corporate profit.

In essence, Allan Jamisen frames the song as a highly zeitgeist-driven commentary on how societal conflicts are manufactured, justified and sold to the public under the guise of democracy and freedom. The repeated mantra “It’s better than before…” has a chilling dual meaning.

As for the production, we deeply appreciate the genre expansive vibe, which fuses trip-hop, industrial weight, jazz-inflected brass, and spoken-word intensity to create a film-noir-like atmosphere. 

Allan tells us how The Coalition emerged from an experimental recording process in Phoenix, built from lo-fi sound sources and mobile Pro Tools sessions, before being refined in Los Angeles with veteran engineer and co-producer John X Volaitis.
