Setting the tone with immersive and atmospheric synth frequencies, TESTING open their new single, SMILE with a a textured drum and bass energy.

The opus, which features band members lucidjason, Joe Kappa and Jimmy, expands to deliver epic production with introspective vocal contributions for the track.

With an ambient and hazy vibe, lucidjason talks about his family and how he wants to support them, Jimmy discusses his current outlook on life and his upbringing, and Joe Kappa talks about being optimistic through hard times.

The overall lyricism of SMILE touches upon the human condition with a positive outlook overall. Speaking on the themes, the trio tell us that, “SMILE is a song where we all come together to talk about the adversity we face in our lives. The song is truly beautiful because despite us having different perspectives on life we were able to make a cohesive project.”

TESTING cite JPEGMAFIA, Toro Y Moi and DMX as influences, although it is clear that that they are creating a universe of their own. lucidjason also confesses, “When I produced it, I was very inspired by liquid drum and bass, and the Donda album by Kanye West.” The trio also recently performed their first show as a group at the Love Jones in Atlanta, Georgia.
