Immersing us with an intriguing drum riff and vibrant plucked guitars, we are already hypnotized by Steve Yanek‘s latest release, I Could Use A Little Rain.

Opening with the vulnerable lyrics, “Another sad and sunny day, I wish the rain would wash away, see me now in full retreat, I hang my head in defeat…” whilst the song expands into a classic rock-Americana production, we are intrigued by the story about to unfold.

Steve Yanek left LA for rural Pennsylvania and channels his energy into creating sonic landscapes designed to evoke emotion, uplift and decode the human condition.

Some lyrical highlights from I Could Use A Little Rain include the introspective, “Seems like I’m always in a daze, can’t seem to get out of my way, got no trust in the hands of fate…” and the vulnerable “It used to be easier back when, my heart was stronger than the shape that it’s been in, now it’s like a well worn shield…”, as the artist seeks respite in the form of rain.

When discussing his influences, Steve Yanek cites The Eagles and Jackson Browne, but it is clear that the artist is forging his own path!
