The song expands touching upon themes of youth, the human condition, the intoxicating effects of nostalgia and the dangers of romanticizing the past. We love the vivid bass line and how the song evolves into a screamo tapestry for the choruses that reminds us of Linkin Park’s By Myself.

Speaking on the intention of the track, Snailmate say, “It’s a rude awakening, but you needed it.” The two piece band from Arizona pride themselves on lyricism that addresses the anxieties everyone experiences, they elaborate, “We want you to know that you’re not alone.
