Sonic Tendencies: Rihanna’s ANTi diaRy and CL’s Hello Bitches

If you have managed to make it through the Adele noise of this week, there have been some pretty exciting sonic gems and exciting news bites. Rihanna, please save us all with ANTi – our bodies are ready.

Having said that, first up is the Rihanna situation – I have a strong feeling ANTi is coming next week. Let’s just hope it is not a Tidal exclusive for the sake of our Bajan princess’s ego and track record. Insight is that the single to launch the album is going to be Kiss It Better, but more to come on that. In the meantime, here is the first instalment of Rihanna’s ANTi diaRy – the whole project is in sync with a massive $25million Samsung partnership, so expect tonnes of content like this to guarantee a solid ROI from the tech giant!

Next up, CL. South Korea’s 2NE1 lead singer has always been the solo star of the group. Fashion creeds, international modelling gigs, Diplo features and more, CL is definitely making a mark and this looks like things are about to get a lot bigger.

“Hello Bitches” is CL’s new buzz single, available for free on SoundCloud but also armed with a rather brilliant (well, duh it is CL) video. In CL’s words, “I wanted to give a little surprise video to excite the fans who have been waiting while I prepare for my solo album.” Enjoy!

Alexander Wang and Samsung

Building on Samsung’s fashion credibility and following on from last season’s partnership with Nicholas Kirkwood, the brand has partnered with Alexander Wang on a collaboration to create the industry’s first co-created print, inspired by crowd-sourced sketches and images (and leveraging Wang’s creative network) using Samsung’s GALAXY Note II. The brand has also created a short “A day in the life of Alexander Wang” film as Wang prepares New York Fashion Week AW13, watch it below.

Proceeds from the sale of the prints will go to Art Start. Samsung also supported a fashion film that I recently made with Elliott Morgan for Nordic Poetry is currently in post-production, so stay tuned for that. It’s set to be released in the next two weeks.

Teaming up with Vogue for Fashion’s Night Out this season, British designer Nicholas Kirkwood unveiled a limited edition case for the GALAXY Note 10.1. You can check out images on the incredible Kit Lee’s Style Slicker and learn more about the incomparable capabilities of the Samsung GALAXY Note 10.1 – particularly from a fashion illustration perspective here.
