Sonic Tendencies: ANOHNI’s Drone Bomb Me and Iggy’s Team

I really wanted to share the new ANOHNI video because the combination of Antony, Naomi Campbell, Riccardo Tisci and Nabil is beyond breathtaking and is really quite the piece of artistry.

Also, I wasn’t expecting to enjoy Iggy Azalea’s comeback, but from a music industry perspective it’s proving against the odds with a really subtle approach to significantly more pop direction. Team arrived today accompanied by a dance video which is beautifully constructed with a really diverse cast of insanely talented dancers. I still don’t agree with her attitude a lot of the time, but this is a legit pop track and she’s delivering her signature rapping and JLo/Gwen-esque singing for the chorus which previously would have been given to someone else like Charli XCX or MO which makes sense considering the message of the song is “I got me” in line with Digital Distortion being her response to well, everything. The track features twelve writing credits including Bebe Rexha (super star) and Lil Wayne.

Donatella Versace for Givenchy AW15

In a move of transition to completely break down boundaries, Donatella Versace is set to star in the Givenchy AW15 ad campaign. She’ll star alongside Givenchy’s Riccardo Tisci, in a rather fundamental ego move. The campaign was shot by none other than Mert & Marcus.

CR Fashion Book’s Masked Cover Star Is…Kim Kardashian

Carine Roitfeld is a genius. To only imagine the conversations that went on between Karl Lagerfeld, Carine, Riccardo Tisci, Kanye West and pregnant Kim Kardashian on set during this shoot (and the hustle it took to get her on the cover) is beyond human comprehension.

Either way, The Mask(-ed woman) that we saw a preview for on the third issue of CR Fashion Book is none other than Kim Kardashian. I’ve only met Kim once (in Cape Town of all places) but the respect and admiration I have for her and what she has achieved in this world is unparalleled. She’s an extremely smart woman and this is proof in point of the fact that she is playing this game better than most.

The CR Fashion Book shoot took place at Karl Lagerfeld’s studio the night before the amfAR gala in Cannes. It is art-directed by Riccardo Tisci.

The alternative cover features a Bruce Weber shoot with Emily Ratajkowski (my Blurred Lines favourite) and two male models engaging in well, a three-way I suppose. It’s good, it’s very Weber.

The V Magazine Music Issue appears to be the most talked about magazine’s of 2012 thus far, whether read are loving or loathing it – from Britney’s team shoot to the rather (let’s say) provoking Justin Bieber editorial to the incredible and perfect Lana Del Rey by Karim Sadli. Here is another of my favourites from the issue featuring the inimitable talent of Antony Hegarty of Antony and the Johnsons by Inez & Vinoodh wearing a Givenchy Haute Couture cape by Riccardo Tisci. Words cannot describe.

Y’all will know that I am a huge fan of Dazed & Confused as a publication, and in particular, a fan of their innovative cover art. Following his collaboration with Jay-Z and Kanye for the album artwork for Watch The Throne, comes Givenchy’s Riccardo Tisci’s art-directed 20th anniversary cover shoot for the iconic magazine. I absolutely love this.

As I’m already a big fan of Interview magazine, and when a feature comes out that is shot by (possibly) my favourite photographer of all time – Steven Klein – and includes Donatella Versace interviewing Italian designer, Givenchy’s Riccardo Tisci – it pretty much lends itself to the for the perfect excuse to post some lewd photos of Tisci’s bleeding nose and models in a junk yard dressed head-to-toe in Givenchy by Riccardo Tisci Fall/Winter 2011.
