In a city saturated with plant based hype, Holy Carrot Portobello stands apart not by shouting the loudest, but by quietly delivering one of the most thoughtful, delicious, and nutritionally intelligent vegan dining experiences in the world. This is not just a great vegan restaurant. It is a great restaurant, full stop.

What immediately sets Holy Carrot apart is its Evening Experience Menu, which feels more like a carefully composed symphony than a sequence of dishes. At a price point that is refreshingly fair for London, especially when compared to overhyped heavyweights like Gauthier Soho, the value is undeniable. Where some tasting menus lean into theatrical minimalism at the expense of satisfaction, Holy Carrot manages generosity, balance, and depth. You leave nourished, not just impressed.

The Koji Flatbread alone could justify the visit. Warm, pillowy, and deeply savoury, it arrives brushed with olive oil and Maldon salt, carrying the unmistakable umami richness of fermentation. It is paired with smoked mushroom chilli ragu, smoked cashew cream, and a hazelnut salsa macha that brings heat, fat, and crunch into perfect alignment. This is comfort food elevated through technique, not ego.

Dish after dish showcases an obsessive understanding of flavour and nutrition. Beetroot ezmé with chilli, blueberry, pine nuts, and crema hits sweet, acidic, and earthy notes while delivering a micronutrient dense punch of antioxidants and minerals. Coal roasted leeks with aji corn and almond romesco are smoky and indulgent, yet packed with fibre, potassium, and healthy fats. Even the oyster mushroom tostada, layered with roasted koji mole, feels engineered for both pleasure and nourishment.

This is where Holy Carrot truly excels. The macro balance is impressive, with ample plant protein from nuts, legumes, and fermentation, but it is the micronutrient diversity that quietly steals the show. Fermented elements boost gut health and mineral absorption. Live fire cooking enhances flavour without masking the integrity of the vegetables. Seasonal produce means vitamin density is high and nothing feels tired or decorative.

Compared to places like Gauthier Soho, which often feel trapped in a legacy fine dining mindset, Holy Carrot is alive, modern, and confident. There is no need to mimic meat or lean on nostalgic French structures. Vegetables are the protagonists here, celebrated from root to leaf, and treated with genuine respect.

That respect extends beyond the plate. The staff are warm, knowledgeable, and refreshingly unpretentious. They talk about fermentation, sourcing, and fire with enthusiasm rather than script. You feel welcomed, not managed. It is the kind of service that makes you want to linger, order another cocktail, and trust the kitchen completely.

Behind it all is a compelling story. Founder Irina Linovich’s deep connection to seasonal produce and sustainability blends seamlessly with Chef Daniel Watkins’ mastery of live fire and fermentation. Together they have created something rare, a restaurant where ethics, flavour, design, and nutrition align without compromise.

Holy Carrot is proof that vegan food does not need to be preachy, performative, or prohibitively expensive to be world class. It just needs care, intelligence, and soul. In a global conversation about sustainable dining, Holy Carrot is not following trends. It is setting the standard.

In a city overflowing with plant-based options, Samata Vegan House in Hollywood has emerged as a beacon of serenity and flavour – an oasis of taste guided by the philosophy of mindfulness and wellness. Family-owned and operated with heart, Samata is more than just a restaurant; it’s a soulful experience deeply rooted in the concept of Samatha – the calming of the mind through focused concentration. It’s fitting, then, that a meal here not only satisfies but soothes, grounding you in nourishment and calm clarity.

From the moment you step inside, you can feel the difference. Warm, welcoming, and refreshingly unpretentious, Samata Vegan House radiates peaceful energy. The dishes here are not only 100% plant-based and homemade but also designed to promote wellness without sacrificing indulgent, full-bodied flavor.

Let’s get straight to the star of the show: the vegan wings. With bold varieties – Hot, BBQ, Tom Yum, and Garlic – their soy wings are simply unparalleled. The best vegan wings in Los Angeles – no contest

Samata’s menu is as generous as it is health-conscious. Every dish is prepared with intention, reflecting both Thai culinary roots and the family’s commitment to quality ingredients. Craving comfort? The House Fries with vegan parmesan and the Chicken Nuggets with BBQ sauce are playful and satisfying. And tofu lovers will be delighted by the Garlic Tofu and Tofu Crisp, offering depth of flavor and textural contrast.

From their curated “Samata’s Favorites” section, the Hell Fire Chicken brings a bold, spicy thrill, while the Khao Mun Gai – crispy soy chicken with ginger rice – is a comforting classic elevated with vibrant sauces. The Teriyaki Chicken, served with steamed veggies, feels indulgent but light, reflecting the kitchen’s balance of flavor and health.

Samata’s curry selection is an aromatic playground. The Panang Curry and Avocado Green Curry stand out—creamy, rich, and beautifully layered. Pair with sticky rice for full effect. Meanwhile, soups like the tangy Tom Yum and the indulgent Coconut Soup bring depth and spice to every spoonful.

The noodle game is equally strong. The Pad Thai is fresh and peanuty, while the Pad Kee Mao and Drunken Udonsatisfy spicy cravings with fresh herbs and fiery brown sauce.

Even the salads here are stars. The Crispy Chicken Larb Salad and Tofu Larb bring traditional Thai heat and herbaceous brightness. The Avocado Salad is refreshing and dressed to perfection with a zingy ginger vinaigrette.

Don’t leave without dessert. The Coconut Ice Cream with Banana Roll is both comforting and exotic, a creamy, tropical treat to end your meal with joy.

Samata Vegan House isn’t just Hollywood’s newest vegan spot, it’s its best. Where so many plant-based eateries chase trends, Samata goes inward, drawing inspiration from Samatha practice: serenity through focused simplicity. Every dish reflects that philosophy, crafted to bring joy, nourishment, and peace.

Whether you’re a longtime vegan or a curious omnivore, Samata offers a spiritual and culinary refuge- a chance to reset, recharge, and eat phenomenally well. In a fast-paced city full of noise, Samata whispers: slow down, savor, and center yourself.

MARINA’s latest release, CUNTISSIMO, is a bold declaration of artistic evolution, a reclamation of identity, and a cinematic event in its own right. Merging sweeping orchestral drama with a pulsating techno-pop undercurrent, the track feels at once opulent and rebellious. This is MARINA at her most ambitious, conjuring the ghosts of glamour, satire, and self-invention into a track that might very well be the defining moment of her career.

CUNTISSIMO opens with a lush, cinematic soundscape, strings swell like a classic film score, only to be disrupted by a crisp, modern beat that carries us into a high-gloss world of pop surrealism. The juxtaposition is deliberate. MARINA creates a sonic space that feels both timeless and hyper-contemporary, where old Hollywood decadence crashes into futuristic club euphoria. At the centre of it all is her unmistakable voice: pristine, cool, and perfectly controlled, delivering each lyric with knowing precision.

Lyrically, the track walks a fine line between pop-culture camp and pointed empowerment. The repeated declaration – “I’m a star, I’m a star, I’m a star” – is a reclamation of self-worth, performed with the wry confidence of someone who knows exactly how stardom works and chooses to play with its image. “Push-up bra in my diamonds / Gift from my ex-husband” is emblematic of MARINA’s signature lyrical style—sharp, self-aware, effortlessly stylish.

The chorus, built around the titular CUNTISSIMO, functions as a manifesto. Each reference – Salma Hayek basking in the sun, Louise and Thelma on the run – evokes female freedom and cinematic escape, suggesting that the real power lies in emotional detachment, self-possession, and the refusal to be diminished by others. The song’s emotional core lies in its refrain: “Your energy is precious / Not your fault he fell in love.” It’s both a warning and a celebration, dressed in shimmering production and cheeky bravado.

CUNTISSIMO arrives accompanied by a music video that reintroduces Electra Heart – MARINA’s now-mythic alter ego – within a newly imagined, fictional reality. In a series of surreal press clippings, Electra Heart is reported to have faked her own death, only to reemerge in a hyperreal version of fame. The visual narrative is rich with religious and pop-cultural symbolism, merging themes of resurrection, transformation, and hyperfemininity. Electra’s return is not nostalgic; it’s subversive. She returns not as a victim of love, but as a mythic survivor of it.

The single follows two equally refined predecessors: BUTTERFLY and CUPID’S GIRL. BUTTERFLY introduced a dreamlike evolution of MARINA’s sound, balancing vulnerability and elegance with a sonic playful softness that hinted at inner transformation. CUPID’S GIRL, by contrast, offered candy-coated melancholy with bite – playful, hook-laden, and emotionally astute. Together with CUNTISSIMO, these tracks form a thematic trilogy that paves the way for the upcoming album, PRINCESS OF POWER, due for release on June 6.

What distinguishes this era is not just the polish or the concept – it’s the clarity of artistic vision. This is MARINA’s most cohesive and creatively fearless work since Electra Heart, but where that album explored identity through constructed archetypes, PRINCESS OF POWER breaks the fourth wall entirely. It is meta-pop with soul, dressed in couture and delivered with conviction.

CUNTISSIMO is a triumph – an anthem of modern femininity, a theatrical masterstroke, and a career-defining moment. MARINA is no longer performing pop from within the system. She is reconstructing it entirely, on her own terms.

MARINA‘s return with BUTTERFLY feels like a full-circle moment, a resurgence of the high emotional quotient that defined The Family Jewels and Electra Heart. If Ancient Dreams in a Modern Land explored political disillusionment and societal critique, BUTTERFLY retreats inward… a lush, shimmering chrysalis of personal transformation. It is a comeback single in every sense, reviving the raw vulnerability, introspection, and biting self-awareness that first made her a singular force in pop music.

Sonically, BUTTERFLY fuses the baroque grandeur of her early works with futuristic and multi-dimensional production. The verses are grounded, simmering with restrained melancholy, but the choruses erupt into a celestial expanse – a neon-lit ascension reminiscent of Teen Idle and with a nod to Stromae‘s sound and A Touch of Class‘s iconic hit, Around the World (La La La La La). The production is layered yet spacious, each sonic element moving like light refracting through a prism. The effect is otherworldly: shimmering synths intertwine with ethereal vocal modulations, crafting a sonic landscape that feels simultaneously nostalgic and ahead of its time. There is an almost Grimes-esque neotenous charm in the chorus, an innocence wrapped in wisdom, the paradox of youthful fragility and hardened experience coexisting within the song’s DNA.

Lyrically, BUTTERFLY is a declaration of self-actualization and an elegant rejection of past betrayals. The opening lines set the tone: “Sometimes people gonna let you down / Not everybody’s meant to stick around.” Here, MARINA acknowledges the impermanence of relationships, embracing solitude as a necessary step toward metamorphosis. The chorus is triumphant yet wistful, “Watch me grow from afar as I turn into a butterfly…”

There is no bitterness, only emancipation. The imagery of transformation is potent, with the butterfly serving as both a symbol of rebirth and an entity that was never truly meant to be confined. The closing repetition of, “Too bad you’ll never see the colours inside me…” is a quiet but powerful statement – growth, ultimately, is an internal process that not everyone is privy to.

The music video is a charming, surrealist accompaniment, seemingly inspired by The Substance. It blurs the line between beauty and horror, amplifying the song’s underlying tension between vulnerability and strength. MARINA, adorned in cinematic visuals, drifts through shifting environments – each frame exuding a sense of detachment, as though she exists beyond the confines of the mortal world. The contrast of soft, luminescent hues with stark, mechanical elements further reinforces the theme of transformation: to evolve, one must shed old skins, even if the process is painful.

BUTTERFLY is a philosophy of survival. It is about the quiet defiance of resilience, the beauty of letting go, and the transcendence of self-discovery. It is MARINA at her most powerful: a shimmering enigma, untethered and soaring, never looking back. With BUTTERFLY, she doesn’t just reclaim her sound – she reclaims herself. We have added BUTTERFLY to the top of our New Music Spotlight playlist.

Reinvention is at the heart of pop music, and Born Again by LISA, Doja Cat, and RAYE is a testament to the power of transformation. The song isn’t solely a breakup anthem, it serves a declaration of autonomy, self-respect, and personal rebirth. In a genre where reinvention is key to longevity, these three artists embody resilience, channeling pain into empowerment. It’s also a song originally crafted by RAYE, owned by her former label, and bought back by LISA so that RAYE could also feature on it and be part of her own writing legacy in the face of exploitation.

LISA, who has been steadily carving her solo identity outside of BLACKPINK, leads the charge with her effortless cool. Her ability to shift between soft vulnerability and commanding confidence mirrors the song’s thematic core: embracing change. Meanwhile, Doja Cat, a master of reinvention herself, brings a blend of irony and playfulness, ensuring the track doesn’t wallow in heartbreak but rather celebrates newfound freedom. RAYE, with her signature rich vocals and poetic lyricism, ties the song together, reinforcing the theme of rediscovery.

Sonically, Born Again feels both ethereal and hard-hitting, balancing shimmering synths with a driving beat. The repeated references to belief, gospel, and salvation are not just metaphorical; they tap into the deeply human desire for renewal. With pop music increasingly embracing vulnerability, this track stands as a reminder that self-worth isn’t defined by past relationships but by how one rises from them.

LISA, Doja Cat, and RAYE have crafted something special – a song that seamlessly blends sultry pop, R&B undertones, and an empowering message. Each artist brings their distinct vocal styles and lyrical prowess, making for a dynamic collaboration that feels fresh and necessary.

LISA kicks off the track with a cool, detached delivery, setting the stage for a story of heartbreak turned independence. Her voice floats over the verses, exuding both nostalgia and defiance. Doja Cat, known for her razor-sharp wordplay, injects wit and humour into her verse, ensuring that the song never becomes too melancholic. RAYE’s bridge, drenched in soulful vibrato, elevates the track to another level, adding depth and emotion.

The chorus is a standout moment, where all three voices intertwine in a hypnotic chant: “If you tried just a little more times / I would’ve made you a believer.” The use of religious imagery juxtaposed against a breakup narrative makes for a compelling contrast. The production, led by lush synths and a pulsing beat, ensures that the song is as danceable as it is introspective.

<iframe loading="lazy" title="LISA - BORN AGAIN feat.

Born Again doesn’t just tell a story, it immerses us in the emotional rollercoaster of moving on. It’s a song about loss, but more importantly, it’s about finding strength in that loss. The track solidifies LISA, Doja Cat, and RAYE as pop forces who are unafraid to embrace reinvention.

The opus arrives with a visually stunning music video, where the three artists transform from grieving figures in dark ensembles to radiant, empowered women dressed in white and silver. The visual metaphor aligns perfectly with the song’s message: the end of a relationship isn’t a loss, but a rebirth.

This latest single builds anticipation for LISA‘s album, Alter Ego, set to drop on February 28. The album includes previous hits like Rockstar, New Woman featuring Rosalía, and Moonlit Floor (Kiss Me). Meanwhile, fans can also look forward to seeing LISA in her acting debut in The White Lotus Season 3, premiering February 16.

With Born Again, LISA, Doja Cat, and RAYE have created a song that not only resonates emotionally but also showcases their evolution as artists.
Few collaborations in modern music feel as natural and fated as those between The Weeknd and Lana Del Rey. Their artistic synergy, spanning nearly a decade, has yielded some of the most atmospheric and emotionally charged tracks in contemporary pop. From Prisoner (2015) and Stargirl Interlude (2016) to Lust for Life (2017), their voices – his drenched in tormented sensuality, hers draped in cinematic melancholy – have always intertwined beautifully. Each time they collaborate, there’s a sense of effortless cohesion, as if they exist in the same sonic universe of doomed romance and faded grandeur. With The Abyss, however, they take their trademark ethereal sadness to an even darker place. This is not just another melancholic love song – it is a funeral hymn for hope itself.

The track opens with a stark yet breathtakingly beautiful piano, played with a kind of divine restraint that makes every note feel like it’s teetering on the edge of silence. There’s a sacred quality to it, almost as if the music is playing from some celestial realm just beyond reach. The weight of the song builds gradually, with emotive synths creeping in like an encroaching storm, swelling and retreating in waves of despair. The opus expands with The Weekend’s signature soundscape of whirring baselines, intricate high hats and dimensional synths.

Lyrically, The Abyss is one of The Weeknd’s most harrowing compositions, confronting mortality, regret, and the desperate grasp for meaning in the face of oblivion – marking the end of an era as this record serves as his final in this format. An ode to his fans if you might.

The opening lines – “I tried my best to not let you go / I don’t like the view from halfway down” – immediately set a tone of despair, as if the protagonist is reflecting on a decision made too late to undo. The phrase “halfway down” evokes a terrifying moment of realization, where regret sets in mid-fall, but there’s no way back. When he asks, “Will I feel the impact of the ground?” it’s as if he’s caught in the limbo between action and consequence, unsure whether the final moment will bring pain or just an empty, weightless nothingness. His anguish deepens as he confesses, “I tried to be something that I’ll never be,” a stark admission of self-doubt and the futility of chasing an identity that was never his to claim. There’s an urgency in his words—”Why waste another precious hour? / Why waste another precious ounce?” – as if time itself is slipping through his fingers. The mention of leaving “somewhat of a legacy” suggests that even in the depths of despair, there is a desire to be remembered, a final attempt to leave a mark before disappearing entirely.

The chorus only amplifies this feeling of resignation and impending doom. When The Weeknd pleads, “Let me close my eyes with dignity / Let’s end it all, the world’s not far behind,” it’s as though he’s seeking solace in the idea that his fate is not just his own but part of something larger – a collapsing world where nothing is worth saving. The phrase “It’s going up in flames, I know” paints an apocalyptic picture, suggesting that destruction is inevitable, whether on a personal or global scale. The sense of finality is chilling, and yet there is an eerie calm to his delivery, as if he has already accepted what is to come.

The second verse shifts into something even more intimate, as The Weeknd clings to the last remnants of love before his descent is complete. “Just hold my heartbeat close to you / Remember how it always beats for you”, is a desperate plea for connection, a final grasp at something tangible before slipping into the void. As he falls “at the speed of light,” he watches his lover’s face shrink from view, begging her not to cry, even as he knows this is the last time they will see each other. When he whispers, “One last time, say that you want me too / The only words that gave me life,” it is utterly devastating. Love was his last tether to existence, the only thing that made life bearable, and now, even that is gone.

Lana Del Rey’s outro is ghostly, her voice floating like a disembodied spirit watching the tragedy unfold. “Mama, I’ll pray / I’m running away” is delivered with a dreamlike detachment, as if she is both participant and observer. The line “Is a threat not a promise?” lingers ominously, raising the question of whether the protagonist’s words were meant as a warning or an unavoidable truth. There’s an eerie ambiguity to it – does she mean that death is inevitable, not just for him but for everyone? Or is she implying that his cries for help were never taken seriously? The phrase repeats like a haunting mantra, blending into the final moments of the song, where voices overlap and dissolve into the abyss itself.

The Abyss is a masterpiece of despair, a sonic descent into darkness that lingers long after the final notes fade. The production is immaculate, balancing delicate piano with swelling synths to create an atmosphere of both intimacy and enormity. The Weeknd’s lyrics are some of his most raw and existential, capturing the terrifying beauty of finality, while Lana Del Rey’s spectral presence adds an almost supernatural dimension. As a continuation of their storied collaborations, “The Abyss” stands as one of their most powerful and devastating works – an intimate, symphonic tragedy that leaves us breathless. We have added the opus to our New Music Spotlight playlist,

Tate McRae’s Sports Car has arrived in its full glory, solidifying its status as a pop masterpiece. After a low-quality leak of the song made its rounds online a week prior, fans were left speculating about its potential. Now, with the official release, the song not only meets expectations but surpasses them, delivering a polished, cinematic soundscape that enhances its undeniable allure.

The final cut of Sports Car features noticeably more clarity than the leaked version, elevating the lush production. Tate and her team have added an extra verse, deepening the narrative and giving listeners more of the story to connect with. The finale, too, has been amplified with layered harmonies, intricately woven ad-libs, and subtle, orchestral undertones, creating a dimensionality that was missing from the initial leak. These refinements make the song feel larger than life, yet its intimacy remains intact – an impressive balancing act that showcases Tate’s growing prowess as an artist.

Sports Car is an expert study in modern pop, with production that blends nostalgic callbacks to early 2000s icons while remaining decidedly fresh. The sultry vocal delivery and hypnotic beat immediately bring to mind Buttons by The Pussycat Dolls, while the bold, confident sensuality echoes Britney Spears‘ self-titled album era, particularly tracks like Outrageous. Tate’s ability to draw inspiration from pop’s most iconic eras while carving out her own lane demonstrates her deep understanding of the genre. It’s seductive, yet empowering; intimate, yet universal. The juxtaposition of sleek electronic elements with raw vulnerability is quintessential Tate McRae.

Since her breakout hit “you broke me first,” Tate McRae has grown from a rising teen star to one of pop’s most dynamic forces. Her ability to channel deeply personal experiences into songs that resonate globally has been her superpower. With each release, her artistry has matured, and “Sports Car” is no exception. It’s bold, self-assured, and pushes boundaries, a natural evolution for an artist who’s proven she’s not afraid to take risks.

What makes Tate’s rise even more compelling is her multidisciplinary approach to her craft. A trained dancer, she incorporates movement into her performances and visuals in a way that elevates her storytelling. Fans are already buzzing about the avant-garde music video for Sports Car, teased earlier this month. Featuring her masked alter ego, Tatiana (who Tate claims also wrote the song!),and what are reportedly the highest heels we’ve ever seen, the video promises high art and striking visuals. Early hints suggest it could be a thematic continuation of her It’s Ok, I’m Ok video, further cementing her knack for creating cohesive, layered narratives across her work.

The teased visuals for Sports Car point to a bold creative direction. The inclusion of Tatiana, Tate’s masked protagonist, adds a layer of mystique to her storytelling, while the conceptual elements – such as high art settings and avant-garde aesthetics – signal a new chapter of visual experimentation. Fans are already speculating on the deeper meaning behind the masks and how the character might tie into the song’s themes of control, allure, and identity.

The prospect of continuity between It’s Ok, I’m Ok and Sports Car suggests that Tate is building her own visual universe, a strategy reminiscent of artists like Lady Gaga and Beyoncé. This ambitious approach to music videos positions her as not just a pop star but a true creative visionary.

Tate McRae‘s Sports Car delivers a seductive yet playful narrative steeped in metaphor, with vivid imagery that captures the thrill of desire and adventure. The song’s lyrics, layered with double meanings and tactile details, feel intimate yet relatable, reinforcing Tate’s reputation for blending vulnerability with boldness.

The opening lines, “Hey, cute jeans / Take mine off me,” immediately set a flirtatious tone. Tate uses casual, everyday language to convey a sense of spontaneity, as if inviting the listener into a private moment. The repetition of lighthearted phrases like “Oh, golly gee” juxtaposes the sensual undertones, creating a teasing balance between innocence and seduction. The line “Where’d you put those keys? We can share one seat” cleverly introduces the titular sports car as both a physical and metaphorical vehicle for intimacy, setting the stage for the song’s central theme: reckless, uninhibited connection.

The pre-chorus deepens the atmosphere, painting vivid scenes of clandestine moments: “In the alley, in the back / In the center of this room.” The shifting locations reflect the impulsive nature of desire – unbound by convention or setting, it’s about seizing the moment. The line “Boy, don’t make me choose” hints at an emotional conflict beneath the surface, subtly suggesting that this connection might be fleeting or impractical, yet irresistible.

The chorus anchors the song’s central metaphor: “I think you know what this is / No, you ain’t got no Mrs., but you got a sports car.” The sports car becomes a symbol of both freedom and allure, a vehicle for escapism and indulgence. It represents not just the partner’s status or lifestyle but the thrill of being swept away into an exhilarating, no-strings-attached experience. The repeated “uh-uh” cleverly conveys intimacy without explicitness, leaving just enough to the imagination while emphasizing the physicality of the connection.

In the second verse, Tate contrasts external visuals – “Pretty blue streetlights” – with internal sensations—”Got butterflies / So good it hurts.” This juxtaposition captures the duality of infatuation: the external world fades away as the emotional and physical sensations take over. The line “Thinkin’ ’bout what we did before this verse” breaks the fourth wall, adding a cheeky self-awareness to the song. It’s as if Tate herself is reliving the moment with the listener, pulling them further into the narrative.

This pre-chorus shifts the focus to a more private setting: “On the corner of my bed / Oh, and maybe on the beach.” The imagery is intimate and cinematic, creating a montage of possibilities. The line “You could do it on your own / While you’re lookin’ at me” is strikingly vulnerable yet confident, encapsulating the charged dynamic between the two characters.

The bridge is an escalation, both musically and lyrically: “Oh my guy, you don’t wanna waste my time / Let’s go ride.” Here, Tate drops the subtlety, directly calling for action. The repetition of “Let’s go ride” mirrors the urgency of the emotions in play. The sports car, once again, is a metaphorical extension of the relationship—fast-paced, thrilling, and fleeting.

The outro brings the song full circle: “I think you wanna, wanna / But you got a sports car.” This repetition emphasizes the cyclical nature of the connection. The relationship, much like a high-speed joyride, is about the rush rather than the destination. The slightly unfinished feeling of the outro leaves the listener suspended, echoing the fleeting yet impactful nature of the encounter.

The lyrics of Sports Car” are deceptively simple, masking layers of meaning beneath their conversational tone. The sports car metaphor ties the song together, representing both physical intimacy and the thrill of the unknown. Tate McRae’s delivery—effortlessly balancing coyness and confidence—brings the lyrics to life, creating a song that feels universally relatable while retaining a sense of personal storytelling.

With Sports Car, Tate McRae delivers a track that feels both familiar and groundbreaking. It’s a testament to her ability to channel pop’s golden eras while pushing the genre forward. The song’s sultry, confident energy, paired with its rich production and expanded structure, makes it a standout in her already impressive discography. And with the promise of a cutting-edge visual companion, Sports Car is set to become a defining moment in her career. Tate McRae is no longer just a rising star – she’s cementing her place as one of pop’s most exciting voices.

The advantages of CBD are infinite, from maximising healing to calming, alleviating stress, to offset anxiety and depression, protect against neurological disease, raise immunity for the self and collective, heal from cancer and coronavirus, better heart health, improved sleep and more. There is a universal reason why we have cannabinoid receptors, we are meant to be in synch with the plant.

One of the UK’s leading CBD providers, EthicaCBD is here for a revolution. Delivering the “Highest Quality Ethical CBD For People & Planet”, the Cornish company has officially launched its newest wellness product for athletes, CBD Sports Gel in addition to their oils .

Optimum physical maintenance is a priority for the company and a shared priority with our platform, so we have been reviewing the fast-acting topical gel for athletes looking for new recovery solutions, in addition to some of the original oils and the CBD infused night cream.

EthicaCBD Sports Gel

The hotly-anticipated innovative formula has spent nearly a year in development and promises to be one of the company’s most popular products. The blend of specially-chosen natural extracts works quickly and has the potential to ease injured joints and soothe tired muscles.

By embracing the qualities of other plant extracts, EthicaCBD has created this unique and powerful cooling sports gel to create a fitter, healthier ‘you’ whilst fortifying your body and mind. The cooling effect of the natural fast-working sports gel is a result of using ergogenic menthol and powerful camphor. Camphor is renowned for its pain-relieving properties and is absorbed topically through the skin to offer instant relief.

Alex Pierrot, climate activist who is currently cycling the length of the UK says, “The sports gel drastically improved our cycle! We used it several times a day on our necks, forearms and lower backs, as well as at the end of the day after stretching. It certainly played a key part in none of us ending up with joint or muscle injuries at all! We all loved the cooling sensation that came a few minutes after applying the gel, and that it didn’t hurt the skin like similar products sometimes do.”

The sports gel also uses a powerful compound called CBG (coined the ‘grandfather of all cannabinoids’) because the combination of CBD and CBG is renowned to possess greater benefits than when used in isolation. CBG is fast becoming the go-to cannabinoid to relieve muscle soreness which users say can alleviate joint pain

“We are extremely proud of this plant-based topical sports gel and its unique blend of ingredients,” said Ruarri Spurgeon, founder of EthicaCBD. “The introduction of our sports gel once again showcases our unerring commitment to delivering the highest quality CBD products. Our groundbreaking formulation offers deep, natural relief to sports people and athletes looking to be their natural best. By using our cooling, soothing restorative sports gel after your workout we promise you’ll feel the difference.”

EthicaCBD Oils

EthicaCBD puts each and every one of its products through rigorous, pharmaceutical-grade testing to ensure the highest quality products which are vegan-friendly and free of heavy metals, pesticides and other contaminants.

Testing the various oils has been a pleasure, the range is expansive and features an oil for Calm (Eucalyptus and Iodine), Day (Vitamin C and Chia Seed Oil), Night (Camomile, Zinc and Lavender) and Defence (Vitamin D3 and Goji Berry). They all taste delicious and the texture feels really natural and refined, it feels in line with the brand ethos of “Highest Quality Ethical CBD For People & Planet”. All of EthicaCBD’s external packaging, right down to the tape that seals the boxes, is made from 90% recycled material. The bottles are packed in hemp fibre, and any unavoidable emissions are offset by the World Land Trust.

EthicaCBD Infused Night Cream

Dropping officially in March 2019, I currently have the honour of wearing and experiencing the latest from Tom Ford‘s Private Blend Collections – Beau De Jour. A non binary fragrance, as always, Beau De Jour holds an intriguing stoic freshness governed by the commanding entrance of Lavender. I traditionally use lavender scents to sleep, but Beau De Jour’s cool opening is fused with an energetic but subtly spicy cardamom and saffron which shifts the mood into a strong and international vibe touching on Eastern elements with floral desert tones and a sweetness of jasmine sambac. Such a powerfully unique combination and unlike anything I’ve really experienced from the brand before.

It’s always telling as to how many people ask me in a day what fragrance I am wearing and this is without a doubt commanding enough to have everyone wanting to know the deal! African Rosemary and floral green Geranium with a mint inflection generate further international sensory appeal and the warmth of Oakmoss and the electric green of Basil set it apart from its peers.

Beau de Jour is offered in the classic brown Private Blend bottle in three sizes: 50ml, 100ml and 250ml decanter from March.

We went on Friday night and were served a bespoke vegan set meal which you can order ahead of time, either the morning of or ideally 24 hours in advance. The restaurant manager made it clear that they are looking at incorporating more vegan dishes onto the menu overall as he’s aware of the shift in the general public and the rampant rise in non-violent consumption.

So considering the name of the restaurant, I was keen to try the name-sake dish, but usually it is made with egg, however, the roomali chef kindly created a vegan version especially for us, along with a three course meal which included bhindi bhel (pictured below), gol guppa (aka pani puri), sweet potato bomb and almond cutlet for starters. The main consisted of yellow tadka dal, brussel sprout dry curry, saag shulgum (turnip curry), saffron rice and naan. The roomali roti also came at this time. For dessert, we experienced mango and fruit of the forest sorbet with and exotic fruit platter.

Personal favourites for me were the bhindi bhel, literally such an iconic dish that I have experienced a multitude of times, but this time was by far the best, it was zesty, the pomegranates were extremely good quality and the overall texture was beautiful. I also loved the almond cutlet which was served with tamarind and the sweet potato bomb, also with tamarind – a key component to the Dehli meets South Indian culinary regions. For mains, my favourite was the tadka dal which was perfectly textured and tasted incredible.

If you’re drinking, there is a vegan Merlot on the menu, it’s interesting how often people don’t realise that most wines are non-vegan, they either have milk proteins, gelatin, are filtered through fish bladders or contain egg white. Well there you go! We have a challenge on our hands wine industry, I have faith that you can evolve yourselves too!

Excited to see which options make the main menu, but definitely a spot if you fancy a vegan Indian, just give them some warning!
