Drawing us in with an astral Hammond organ performance, showcasing dynamism, fused with textured drums and a luscious saxophone presence, Peter Daniel opens Come Back Together with a high emotional quotient and instrumental mastery.

The opus evolves with drama and intrigue as we are taken on a playful and somewhat cinematic journey. There are creative ebbs and flows, and at no moment are we left to ponder before the next re-imagining of the soundscape manifests.

The rolling drums performed by Xavier Lecouturier are full of emotional depth, whilst Joe Doria showcases his dimensionality on the Hammond organ, giving space to RL Heyer‘ guitar which keeps us grounded and cohesive, allowing composer Peter Daniel‘s saxophone performance to truly shine as a protagonist.

The manner in which the individual artists create space for each other feels respectful, and when their energies fuse together we feel transcendental. Commenting on his project, Peter Daniel tells us, “Come Back Together is a cinematic sweep grounded in earthy rhythm and heartfelt melody. This song is about reconnecting – musically and emotionally. We’ve all been living in fragments. This piece calls us back to center – individually and together.”

We deeply appreciate the intentional manner in which Peter is creating and the notion of oneness that is brought to life through the contemporary jazz masterpiece. The opus has been released via Music Factory Records, the independent label founded by guitarist and producer Ari Joshua, whose work we have covered in depth.

We learn that Peter Daniel is known for his work with Lauryn Hill, Father John Misty, ODESZA, and regional groups like The True Loves and Polyrhythmics. This experience certainly comes through with the composition, and the climactic finale, and fade out which really leaves us yearning for more and certainly a live experience of the track!
