The EP opens with the title track, taking us on a hedonistic and subversive trip, introducing us to the concept of the record. As a reminder, Patryk confesses, “The Gin Mill Club was a place where I would lose myself often. The music would get so loud and the vodka would hit so hard that both my mind and my body would become numb. After all, it was a party – one that never seemed to end.”

Next up is Girlfriend, which opens up with a charismatic bassline and intricate, nuanced percussion as Patryk shares his seductive and breathy energy with us. The track certainly showcases the star’s fierce and assertive flow and we love the playful melodic riffs, which intertwine perfectly with the charming nature of the prose.

Boating follows on with a reverberating, dimensional synthscape and further solidifies the evocative nature of the EP as the story “weaves a haunting tale of seeking closeness in all the wrong places – a world of emotional cruising.”

Next up is a new one for us, Mallorca, which has a cerebral intro before we are joined with an introspective perspective from our star. The track feels like a solid representation of Patryk’s sound, whilst we are transported with the expansive energy of the creator once again.

Finally, we experience the psychedelic finale to the record – Pearls. We are reminded by Patryk that the song is “a tribute to my beautiful friends and its title is a reference to the place we all grew up in, which by many has been called ‘the pearl of Lubusz land’.”

Overall, Gin Mill Club is a highly cinematic, cohesive and elegant body of work showcasing an exemplary and refined brand, demonstrating succinctly the type of artist Patryk Kania is.

As avid fans of Patryk Kania, we couldn’t wait to hear his latest release, Gin Mill Club. Setting the tone with a rising synthscape, laced with melodic nuances and intricate, textured drums, the star opens the track with metaphorical prose and his signature vocal design.

The opus expands with intimacy as Patryk Kania takes us on an evocative journey, detailing his personal reality with certain nods to one of his greatest influences, Lana Del Rey.

Gin Mill Club was written by Patryk Kania and produced by his long-time collaborator Kevin Buster. Gin Mill Club is also the second song and the title track of Patryk’s debut full-length album which will be released in 2023!

Establishing the mood with a choral synth expanding into an organic riser and immersive keys, Patryk Kania opens All My Kisses Flow Like Water with the intimate and reassuring lyrics, “Let go of what you want, follow me instead, listen to the sound that your footsteps make, don’t try looking back, it’s too dark to see, trust me when I say, you are safe with me…”

Staying true to the cinematic and poetic soundscape that we are learning to expect from the rising Polish artist based in Belfast, All My Kisses Flow Like Water takes us on a narrative-based journey described by Patryk Kania as “Midsummer Night in the Polish countryside”.

To bring the story to life in more depth, Patryk adds in conceptual, and much appreciated, verbiage, “The only night the mystical fern flower can be found in the darkest corners of the greenest of forests. What’s that? Did you hear something? Driven by your curiosity you decide to follow the cracking of the branches only to find yourself in the presence of a peculiar creature whose attention you caught. You are in awe but be careful – the closer you get the harder it will be to leave.”

As the opus expands, we are in awe of the strings and Patryk Kania‘s elegant and charismatic delivery, which is full of romanticism. The track is produced by Florida based Kevin Buster, and is the third single from Patryck’s upcoming EP which invites us into “a world of rural legends filled with laughter, sadness, hope and terror.”

Born and raised in rural Poland, Patryk spent most of his life listening to music which served him as an escape from the forests and the lakes that he once thought were going to be his only home. At 19 years old, he moved to the UK where he decided to settle down. A few years later, he started learning music production which allowed him to turn melodies and lyrics he would make up in his head into demos he would publish on SoundCloud. In early 2021, he met Kevin Buster who produced his debut EP.

Setting the tone with immersive keys expanding with celestial string details and light percussion, Patryk Kania opens his latest single, Love Language with the vulnerable lyrics, “I cut my hair short, fold the pictures, I wear my face long just for fun, they say it’s easy to play the victim, but all they do is hit and run…”

Love Language expands into an intimate and moving composition that tells the story of what it is like growing up in a society that might not understand you.

Speaking on his vision, Patryk Kania says, “Growing up in a secluded place has its perks. It’s quiet, slow-paced and gives you a sense of community. But what happens when you start to develop feelings that this same loving community views as abnormal and deviant?”

The rising artist who was born and raised in Poland continues, “The longing for your kind of love becomes suppressed and you yourself become at odds with who you are inside.”
