]]> LGBT rights aside, my growing fondness and ongoing collaborations with Russian and Georgian culture, lead me to meet one of the most phenomenal painters and artists form Moscow – Elene Metreveli. Born in Tbilisi, Georgia and Surikov State Art Institute graduate, Elene has partnered with various Russian designers including Ria Keburia, she illustrates for some of Eastern Europe’s biggest magazines and collaborates on look books, drawing prints for garments and creating installations for various exhibitions and events including the Ginza Project. Here’s a sample of some of her work below taken from her artistic translation of Guram Gvasalia’s book Size Zero available worldwide now.
