Setting the tone with a dynamic strings arrangement and atmospheric vocals, Natalia Quest opens Inversion with prophetic prose as she sings, “Born in chaos, born in pain, distorted light, blindfolded sight, hidden clues, shuffled answers, what else could be done to restrain your freedom flight…”

We are immediately captivated by the star’s philosophical depth, and the drama that ensues. We appreciate the zeitgeist message of what Natalia Quest shares with her lyricism, and the way that she brings to life the unspoken realities of our universe.

With its enigmatic melodies and thought-provoking lyrics, Inversion takes us on a mesmerizing journey of contemplation and curiosity. The lyrics of Inversion are (third) eye-opening and serve as a catalyst for introspection. The song challenges us to question the status quo and consider alternative perspectives. The cleverly crafted verses weave together tales of hidden truths, secret societies, and government cover-ups, all while maintaining an air of ambiguity. The poetic nature of the lyrics also allows for multiple interpretations, encouraging us to engage in our own exploration of reality.

Speaking on the intention behind the release, Natalia passionately tells us, “We witness the escalation of madness, lies, and, ultimately, INVERSION: genocide, false prophets, the infiltration of strange and unnatural ideas into the mainstream… and everyone believes they are too small to change anything, to make an impact. One day, I pondered – what can I do with the tools available to me? Write and sing a song.” We love this energy!

Natalia Quest is a singer songwriter born in Russia and currently based in Los Angeles, we learn that the star designs her songs to “embody complexity and sophistication that reflects her old soul.”

The star cites Rammstein, Queen, Radiohead, Portishead, Ozzy Osbourne, Marylin Manson, Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, Nine Inch Nails, Evanescence, Muse, Ulver, Archive, Lacuna Coil, A Perfect Circle, Infected Mushrooms, SOAD, Apocalyptica, Tori Amos, and Deftones as some of her influences, which we can feel come though with Inversion, although there is no doubt that Natalia Quest is manifesting a sound of her own.

We can certainly imagine this song as a futuristic James Bond, theme or the soundtrack to an upcoming Tomb Raider sequel. Natalia adds, “The song is about truth, about seeing clearly through evil and propaganda, about critical thinking, personal and collective freedom, personal and collective transformation of consciousness and relationships with ourselves, nature, Earth and other people…”

We love the message that Natalia Quest shares with her artistry, and have added Inversion to our New Music Spotlight playlist, as well as our brand new TIMELESS playlist, whilst we continue to explore the star’s growing discography, and anticipate future releases from the visionary creator.
