The cycle of cool and relevant seems to be becoming tighter by the year, because recent peak Mugler “brand” was without a doubt under the reigns of Nicola Formichetti between 2010-2013, so barely five years later, it seems we’re ready for an archive resurgence.

The iconic brand will hold a new exhibition at The Montreal Museum of Fine Arts, over 130 of Mugler’s most iconic designs will be seen in public, some for the first time, alongside art work by famed photographers and archive materials. It’s being held in the same place as the Gaultier exhibit which went global over the course of two years, so we can hopefully expect the same!

Let’s hope some of the architecture renders of the proposed Mugler Hotels in collaboration with French architect Jean-Paul Cassia come to life there too!

This morning’s Shortlist magazine featured a very inspiring and touching cover story with South African sprint runner – Oscar Pistorius. Also known as the “Blade Runner” and “the fastest man on no legs”. You’ll also recognise him as the face of the stunning Thierry Mugler A*Men fragrance campaign from this time last year. For the record, Black Jesus Amen Fashion has always been one of my favourite tracks from Born This Way, so hearing the incredible remix that accompanied the Mugler show, along with Gaga’s haunting vocals, was absolutely my digital highlight of Paris Fashion Week this season.

To accompany the launch of Formichetti’s SS12 RTW collection, Mugler partnered with Gaga once again on a short film directed by photographers Inez and Vinoodh. It premiered last night and a mobile version leaked soon after. Mugler (or KCD Worldwide) decided that MSN was the best portal for the exclusive, so here it is. It ties in intrinsically with the brand, and the collection looks really beautiful. Let’s hope an extended edit of just the projection and an mp3 version of the remix are issued at a later date.

A few months ago, Eva Mendes was announced as the face of Thierry Mugler’s iconic fragrance, Angel. Team Mugler also invited Mendes to sing Windmills Of Your Mind made famous by Dusty Springfield – further integrating her credibly as a celebrity ambassador for the campaign. Check out the video of her singing below, along with the campaign image and the behind the scenes video of the shoot. Stay tuned for the full advert, set to drop soon.
