In an era where disaster movies often rely on giant budgets and empty spectacle, Deep Water arrives as a brutal reminder of why the genre became so popular in the first place: ordinary people trapped in an impossible situation, making impossible choices while death waits around every corner.

Directed by Renny Harlin, the filmmaker behind classics such as Die Hard 2, Cliffhanger and Deep Blue Sea, Deep Water combines two primal fears into one relentless survival nightmare – a catastrophic plane crash and the terror of being stranded in shark-infested waters. The film stars Aaron Eckhart as Ben, alongside legendary actor Ben Kingsley as Rich, with Angus Sampson delivering one of the movie’s most memorable performances.

What immediately separates Deep Water from many modern disaster films is the incredible attention given to its plane crash sequence. Rather than a quick explosion and cutaway, the crash unfolds over an extended, nerve-shredding sequence that shows every stage of the disaster – the panic of passengers, the chaos inside the cabin, people being thrown around as the aircraft tears apart, and the horrifying moments immediately after impact. It feels disturbingly realistic and has been praised by audiences as one of the film’s strongest moments.

Once the survivors are left floating in the Pacific Ocean, the movie shifts gears into pure survival horror. The sharks are merciless, the attacks are bloody, and Harlin does not shy away from showing the brutal consequences of being trapped in the water with predators circling beneath you. Limbs, injuries, and sudden attacks give the film a genuinely graphic edge, earning it an R rating for violent content and bloody images.

Beyond the carnage, Deep Water works because the characters are more than just shark food. The survivors clash, break down, and reveal different sides of themselves as the situation grows increasingly desperate. Eckhart brings a classic action-hero presence, while Kingsley adds gravitas and emotional weight to the ensemble.

Visually, the film captures both the beauty and horror of the ocean. The vast empty sea becomes a prison, with the wreckage of the aircraft providing a haunting backdrop for the survivors’ fight for life.

Critically, Deep Water has earned a respectable 68% score on Rotten Tomatoes, with a 71% audience score from over 250 verified ratings. Its critics’ consensus describes it as a “good old-fashioned” thriller that benefits from Harlin’s reliable genre instincts. The film also holds an IMDb rating of approximately 6.0/10 from around 1,500 users.

Deep Water may not reinvent the disaster genre, but it understands exactly what audiences want: tension, spectacle, shocking deaths and unforgettable moments. As a modern B-movie with a big bite, it proves that the old-school disaster thriller is still very much alive.

Before he was channeling cosmic love frequencies as NEO 10Y, Nik Thakkar was already a fixture in London’s creative underground — part fashion insider, part cultural disruptor, and wholly impossible to miss. His energy was all over the city in the 2010s: art openings, runway shows, the kind of champagne-soaked nights where irony and glamour blur into one. Naturally, he ended up in Absolutely Fabulous: The Movie — the cinematic explosion of that same world.

Blink and you might miss him, but listen closely: in the film’s trailer, Thakkar is the one screaming when Kate Moss “dies”. It’s chaotic, fabulous, and totally on-brand for the delirious spirit of Ab Fab. That brief, high-voltage moment feels like a time capsule — a flash of pre-NEO Thakkar, embodying the absurd excess the film so lovingly satirises.

At the time, Thakkar was deep in fashion, co-running the label Ada+Nik, modelling for Jean Paul Gaultier, consulting for luxury brands, and moving through the same creative circuits the Ab Fab universe parodied with affection and bite. His cameo sits perfectly between worlds — a fashion kid at the height of London’s glossy madness, moments before his metamorphosis into the artist now known for preaching universal love and radical consciousness.

Looking back, it’s kind of poetic. The scream that broke through the noise of Ab Fab would soon evolve into something more — a voice calling for connection, empathy, and awakening. But in that split second on film, Nik Thakkar wasn’t yet the visionary NEO 10Y. He was the chaos before the calm. And like everything he does, it was iconic.

Where He Is Now

Since that fleeting, fabulous cameo, NEO 10Y has built an entire sonic universe rooted in what he calls “LOVE ENERGY.” His genre-bending releases have earned coverage from Rolling Stone, Billboard, Paper, Dazed, Attitude, and Gay Times, each celebrating his fearless mix of futurist pop and spiritual activism. On stage, he’s brought immersive, mind-opening performances to spaces like The Roundhouse, The Troxy, West Hollywood Pride, Secret Garden Party, New York Fashion Week, and cultural events across Europe and the USA, combining hypnotic visuals with transcendent vocals and messages of peace, liberation, and unity.

From a scream in Absolutely Fabulous to a movement for collective awakening — NEO 10Y has always known how to make noise that means something.

The official trailer for Obsession, the upcoming supernatural horror film written and directed by Curry Barker, teases a chilling story about love gone terribly wrong. Blending romance, psychological tension, and supernatural terror, the film explores the dangerous consequences of getting exactly what you wish for.

At the heart of the story is Bear, played by Michael Johnston, a shy and hopeless romantic who has long harbored feelings for his childhood friend and coworker Nikki, portrayed by Inde Navarrette. Too afraid to confess his feelings, Bear turns to something far more dangerous than honesty. He discovers a mysterious object called the “One Wish Willow,” a strange novelty item that promises to grant a single wish when one of its branches is snapped.

The trailer quickly establishes the film’s unsettling premise. Driven by desperation, Bear uses the Willow to wish that Nikki will fall in love with him. At first, his dream appears to come true. Nikki suddenly becomes deeply devoted to him, giving Bear everything he thought he wanted. However, the trailer reveals that this supernatural wish comes with terrifying consequences. As Nikki’s affection intensifies beyond anything natural, her behavior begins to shift in disturbing ways.

What starts as a romantic fantasy spirals into a nightmare. The footage hints that the wish doesn’t simply create love but something far more obsessive and dangerous. Nikki’s overwhelming attachment begins to distort her personality and threaten everyone around her. The trailer suggests that Bear must confront the horrifying truth that manipulating someone’s feelings comes at a sinister cost.

The film also features Cooper Tomlinson, Megan Lawless, and Andy Richter in supporting roles, helping round out the ensemble cast. Producers James Harris, Haley Nicole Johnson, Christian Mercuri, and Roman Viaris bring the project to life, while Blumhouse’s involvement signals the kind of inventive horror audiences have come to expect from the genre powerhouse.

Obsession has already generated buzz on the festival circuit, premiering at the Toronto International Film Festival’s Midnight Madness section before heading toward a wider theatrical release. Early reactions have praised its unique blend of dark humor, psychological horror, and unsettling supernatural elements.

With its eerie premise and disturbing twists, the trailer positions Obsession as a cautionary tale about desire, control, and the frightening consequences of forcing love. As Bear learns, sometimes the most dangerous thing in the world is getting exactly what you wished for.

Obsession arrives in theaters on May 15, 2026.

The trailer has just dropped for MICHAEL, the highly anticipated biographical film about Michael Jackson, and it sets the stage for what promises to be one of 2026’s biggest music biopics. The full trailer arrives as the release date nears, building excitement for the cinematic portrayal of the life and legacy of one of the most influential entertainers in modern history.

At its core, MICHAEL aims to show Jackson’s life beyond the music. It begins with his discovery as the precocious lead of the Jackson 5, charts his evolution into the King of Pop, and focuses heavily on both his personal life offstage and iconic early solo performances. The film’s narrative gives audiences a front‑row seat to the artist’s ambition, creative drive, and the rise that made him a global phenomenon.

The story is told with depth and dramatic scope, highlighting Jackson’s breakthrough moments, including glimpses of his transformation into a solo star and cultural icon. A few standout sequences in the trailer show Jackson’s legendary moves and performances, along with scenes of his earlier life and family dynamics, especially his relationship with his father, Joe Jackson.

Playing Michael Jackson is Jaafar Jackson, the singer’s real‑life nephew, marking his first feature film role. He carries the film with what many critics are calling an immersive performance, capturing not only Michael’s signature moves but also his emotional and artistic journey. Supporting cast members include Colman Domingo as Joe Jackson, Nia Long as Katherine Jackson, Kat Graham as Diana Ross, and Miles Teller as Michael’s lawyer and manager.

The movie is directed by Antoine Fuqua, known for high‑impact dramas, and written by John Logan, a three‑time Academy Award nominee. Produced by Graham King, the film reunites a team experienced in telling music biography stories on the big screen.

MICHAEL has had a long and complex production journey, with several release date shifts, but it is now set to debut in theaters on April 24, 2026, from Lionsgate in the United States and Universal Pictures internationally.

The new trailer underlines that this is not just a music movie, it’s a biographical drama that tries to balance Jackson’s public achievements with the private challenges and pressures that shaped his life. For fans and general audiences alike, today’s trailer release marks a major step toward one of the most talked‑about films of the year.

The beloved, bizarre, and irresistibly collectible Labubu is officially on its way to becoming a movie. After years of internet virality, skyrocketing resale prices, and a rapidly growing global fanbase, Sony Pictures has stepped in to bring the character to the big screen. While the project is still in its earliest stages, here’s a clear breakdown of everything that has been confirmed – and what fans can reasonably expect.

The Labubu Movie Is in Early Development

Sony Pictures has acquired the screen rights to Labubu, marking the very first time the character will be adapted for film. At this stage, the movie is in early development, which means:

No director has been chosen yet.

No writers or producers have been publicly announced.

No voice cast or actors have been confirmed.

There is no release date, nor even an estimated release window.

Essentially, the project is real – but still at the blueprint stage.

Animated or Live-Action? Not Decided Yet

One of the biggest open questions is the format. Sony has reportedly not yet chosen whether the film will be:

fully animated,

live-action with CGI characters, or

a hybrid in the style of Sonic the Hedgehog, Paddington, or Detective Pikachu.

Each choice creates very different artistic possibilities. Given Labubu’s distinct, stylized look, animation currently seems the most likely direction – but nothing has been confirmed.

Who (or What) Is Labubu?

For anyone new to the craze:

Labubu is a character created by Hong Kong artist Kasing Lung, best known through the global blind-box toy company Pop Mart. With big eyes, long ears, a mischievous grin, and an aesthetic that’s equal parts cute and eerie, Labubu evolved from a niche designer toy into a full-blown cultural phenomenon.

Collectors line up worldwide for new drops. Rare editions sell for huge resale prices. And the ever-expanding “Labubu Tribe” — characters like Mokoko, Pato, Spooky, Tycoco, and Zimomo – creates a world full of potential for a movie.

What the Movie Could Look Like

While no story details are announced, the nature of the IP suggests several possible directions:

1. A Family-Friendly Animated Adventure

The most commercially probable route: a vibrant, whimsical film telling Labubu’s origin or sending the character on a fantastical quest with the rest of the Tribe.

2. A Hybrid Film Set in the Real World

Labubu could interact with human characters, similar to Sonic or Paddington. This would appeal to broad audiences and allow star-powered casting.

3. A Quirky, Slightly Darker Fantasy

Because Labubu’s charm comes from its “cute but creepy” design, the film could lean into a Tim Burton–style tone – still accessible, but with a bit of an edge.

Nothing suggests Sony is going full horror or parody, but fan-made content shows an appetite for offbeat interpretations.

Why Hollywood Wants Labubu

The global success of designer toys has put brands like Labubu on Hollywood’s radar:

Huge collector communities

Strong social media presence

Built-in merchandise opportunities

High brand recognition in Asia, Europe, and increasingly worldwide

For studios, that means an opportunity not just for one movie, but potentially a franchise.

What Fans Are Saying

The reaction online is a mix of excitement and cautious optimism:

Many fans can’t wait to see Labubu in motion.

Collectors hope the movie stays faithful to the character’s original charm.

Some are nervous about Hollywood “sanitizing” the weirdness that makes Labubu unique.

Others are eager for more merchandise, new character introductions, and film-exclusive editions.

As always with beloved niche creations, expectations are high.

What We DON’T Know Yet

The biggest unknowns include:

Plot and setting

Official character lineup

Target audience (children, families, general audiences)

Tone (cute and whimsical vs. quirky and dark)

Animation studio or director

Release year

Given how early the project is, significant news (like director, writer, or format) may still be months away.

What to Watch for Next

The first major updates that will tell us the direction of the film will be:

Director announcement

Format confirmation (animation or live-action)

First concept art or production stills

Casting

Teasers or trailers

Once those arrive, fans will have a much clearer sense of what the Labubu movie will ultimately become.

Final Thoughts

The Labubu movie is happening, but it’s still in the very beginning stages. Sony’s involvement alone signals major confidence in the character’s worldwide popularity and franchise potential. Whether the film becomes a heartfelt fantasy, a visually inventive animated adventure, or something entirely unexpected, the next year of announcements will shape one of the most unusual toy-to-film adaptations in Hollywood.

Back in November 2015, I got a call from the casting director of Absolutely Fabulous: The Movie asking if I would be up for a small role, playing myself – as someone who is actively contributing to the fashion industry. Obviously, I dropped everything and cleared my schedule. A week later I was shooting in London with the cast and some friends – oh and Kate Moss.

Filming was pretty under wraps, although I did get to take some photos backstage that weren’t clearly identifiable!

Fast forward four months and I wake up one morning in LA and my phone is going off the hook – I was convinced someone had died, but it turns out the first trailer had arrived and low and behold, my cameo made it into the trailer (see it at 1.02) in the loudest/most audacious sense! Watch below…

It’s pretty dope, I mean, the trailer was everywhere, seen probably 100 million times around the world at some quite iconic moment – the finale of RuPaul’s Drag Race etc. – and I have to thank everyone for their kind words and double-taking/hitting me up on social media – because damn it was very very cool and the scream took quite some work and commitment on set in front of 100 people including Jennifer Saunders, Joanna Lumley and Mandy Fletcher who all thanked me for doing it after. I think Jennifer’s words were “you nailed it”.

Last night, finally saw the premiere of the film – and a big thank you to Premier for organising my ticket. I went with my dear dear friend Alexis Knox who is also in the film. Also a massive thank you to Fendi for always supporting me (and to Alex for taking this portrait which I adore).

Anyway enough about me, THE FILM! Absolutely Fabulous: The Movie is incredible. For fans, for new comers, the quality of the product – I mean, seeing our favourite characters on screen, shot in such a beautiful way with surround sound – it really really added value. The jokes were top notch, with one liner after one liner, throwback references “you little bitch troll from hell” / “walking down the road”, it’s beautiful, nostalgic, genius – everything you would want it to be. Go see it, 100% – you will NOT be disappointed!

This looks amazing. Life. A perspective film via the relationship between James Dean and the man who “discovered him”, LIFE magazine photographer Dennis Stock, who pursued a photo essay on Dean as a “leader of a new movement” directed by Anton Corbijn. Robert Pattinson plays Stock, Dane DeHaan plays James Dean – in what appears to be the best cast movie of the year. The acting looks exceptional.

Last night I was fortunate enough to be invited to the premiere for Madonna (now lovingly known as M.D.N.A. since the announcement of her new album title just 24 hours ago)’s W.E.. If you are a fan of pop culture, artistic vision, creativity, beauty as a concept, stunning cinematography, a great soundtrack and a decent enough story arch – then W.E. is a film for you. Disclaimer: Yes I think that Madonna is incredible, but this is not a gushing Madonna post.

I was more than pleasantly surprised. Typically not a fan of royal dramas, I wasn’t expecting to be so engrossed and mesmerised by the awe inspiring beauty that W.E. had to offer. Critic reviews of the film have been (and will be) poor. Unfortunately this goes hand-in-hand with the fact that they (a) thrive on negativity and (b) loathe creative celebrities that try to express themselves via new art forms. I guarantee you that if Madonna wasn’t a name attached to this film, reviews would be at least two to three stars higher on average. Go and see it and make a call on it yourself.
