Drawing us in with rippling astral arpeggios and atmospheric vocal ad libs, MOLTENO opens Treading Water with poetic prowess and introspective prowess as she shares metaphorical themes and the conceptual hook about “treading water for your love…”

The emergence of a brooding and emotional bassline with a sublime orchestral arrangement really taps into our heart’s centre as MOLTENO shares her powerful sonic universe with us. The opus is magical, transcendental and filled with raw authenticity. The instrumentation is sublimely cinematic, making the track perfect for a range of sync deals – perhaps an episode of HBO’s Euphoria or an emotive scene in Netflix’s Olympo.

The track feels fluid and weightless. It’s both comforting and unsettling – laced with drama and intrigue, reminding us of early BANKS, particularly Begging For Thread. Each note mirrors the tension between holding on and letting go, between love’s calm and chaos.

We learn that Treading Water serves as the first glimpse of Element 3, the latest chapter in MOLTENO’s elemental series. This time, she explores water – its fragility, power and emotional depth. By now, you will know that we are huge fans of MOLTENO, having featured a slew of her previous releases, including her innovative and immersive fire-inspired EP, Element 1, the atmospheric and celestial, Moonlight, and the conscious and enticing, Stars, so when we heard that the talented creator was back with Clouds, we couldn’t wait to listen and share our experience.

Drawing us in with ethereal, layered vocals and a high emotional quotient, MOLTENO shares her softer side with the opening lyrics of Clouds as she questions, “If I wait for you, watch the horizon for you, let the rays turn icy, all the colours I’ll see…”

The opus expands with a textured beat and clarity, as the star showcases her poetic prowess and philosophical depth. Speaking on the message of the track, MOLTENO confesses, “With Clouds, I wanted to explore the potential of feeling connected with others, even those we’ve lost, by immersing ourselves in nature. I started writing it in the middle of the night when the rest of the house was out, I think that space between awake and dreaming seeped into the song.”

We appreciate the immersive nature of the production, something that we have come to love and expect from MOLTENO. The overarching energy of the track feels transcendental, and we love the concept that she brings to life. The instrumental synth solos are sublime, with added vocal nuances to guide us deeper into MOLTENO‘s universe. The final reprise is a dimensional treat and leaves us yearning for ascension and more!

Setting the tone with a cerebral rising frequency fused into a pulsating bass-line with enigmatic vocal textures, MOLTENO opens Moonlight with the conceptual, situational lyrics, “Crystal towers and icy roads, when I wake up my eyes are closed, travel by moonlight into your dreams, travel by moonlight into your eyes…”

Moonlight expands into an atmospheric and ethereal soundscape with glistening details to deliver an opus about astral projection. The track is transportive and meditative allowing us to explore the astral realm with our protagonist.

An accomplished vocalist, songwriter, producer and multi-instrumentalist, MOLTENO has been praised as the “love child of Björk and Bat For Lashes”, acquiring support across national radio, tastemaker press and editorial playlists on Spotify and Apple Music. 

Speaking about the single, MOLTENO confesses, “After experiencing lucid dreaming, with Moonlight I wanted to explore the idea of travelling and connecting through dreams. What if we truly wake up in our dreams and travel by moonlight?”

We also learn that Moonlight is the first single from Element 2 – the second of four EPs that aim to celebrate the elements and the way nature connects us.

Moonlight is also set to be accompanied by a Daisy Moseley directed music video featuring notable actor William Moseley (Narnia, The Royals).  

No stranger to the live circuit, the solo artist has appeared at the likes of Camp Bestival, Fractalight Festival Of Light, Camden Assembly, The Finsbury and The Victoria to name just a few, as well as live radio performances on Shoreditch FM and Soho Radio.

Setting the vibe with vinyl crackles and an enigmatic and immersive riser with vocal details, MOLTENO opens her debut EP, titled Element 1 with an introduction track called Ignis.

“I wonder if I saw or or am I imagining?” sings MOLTENO on Our House Is On Fire as we commence a journey of exploration into fire as an element.

We are hypnotized by MOLTENO‘s soundscape which is refined and luxurious. Fused with atmospheric and cerebral vocals, MOLTENO sings, “our house is on fire..”

Speaking on the creative narrative of the record, MOLTENO says, “With Element 1 I wanted to explore the positive and negative aspects of the element of fire, from its destructive powers to its illuminating force. It’s the first of four EPs that aim to celebrate the elements and the way nature connects us. I want the releases to help inspire us to not take our planet for granted.”

We love and support MOLTENO‘s intentions with the series of EPs and love the cohesive nature of the project and the innovative detail attached to bringing to life each element for betterment and collective consciousness expansion.

The third track on the EP opens with delectable high hats and synths as MOLTENO sings emotively on Tripping Up. Here, the rising artist demonstrates her range and vulnerability. She sings, “I keep tripping up, I keep tripping up, I don’t wanna stop, I don’t wanna stop…” along with lyrics about catastophizing which is a very relatable theme to those with fire as a strong element in their natal charts.

MOLTENO feels connected to the elements, to the moon and to the stars and creates from her bedroom first and foremost before working with collaborators to amplify her vision.

The fourth song from the EP is called Illuminate which features strings and a hybrid trip-hop beat fused with cosmic textures and details, as our protagonist sings conceptually about being struck by lightning. MOLTENO‘s delivery is enchanting and atmospheric at the same time, and her story telling lends itself to a beautiful parallel with the featured element of fire.

Who’s Crazy is the final track and features the introspective lyrics, “I’ve been up more than I’ve been down…” as MOLTENO continues amidst textured production builds as she sings about the more chaotic energy that fire can bring.
