Yes the rumours are true, we’ve been listening to Miss Torsion‘s new single Love Parasite on repeat, because the four minute opus is quite an adventure.

Opening with the lyrics “something’s watching you, in silence” amidst moody and sensually haunting gothic guitars and syncopated drums, we are already hooked.

The rising artist, who has been releasing since 2020 has created a distinctive and unforgettable track with an infectious hook (literally?) and a dimensionality where the track takes wild turns from verse to chorus changing mood and tempo to deliver something totally mesmerising.

The hook “love love love parasite” leads us on a narrative where the protagonist has essentially been exposed to the “parasite of love”, and the turmoil that goes along with that. Miss Torsion has created a metaphorical concept that we can relate to!

Speaking on the track, the rising artist says, “In this song, love is a crazy creature that is out to get you. Would you run or surrender?” This is high concept and relatable because anyone who knows about love between two people, can be double-edged at best unless you’re in a really conscious relationship.

We adore the change ups, which are like goth to folk to goth to folk, but cohesive. We have been immersing ourselves in the wider work of Miss Torsion including her tracks Mr. Roboto and We Are The Aliens, which are both an equally unique mood.
