Short Film: Regeneration with Fabergé

Last month, contemporary master jeweller Fabergé approached me to collaborate on a project and I can finally share the result. Filmed by my extraordinary talented film director/producer brother Oz Thakkar, we created a 50-second short, ‘Regeneration’ – telling the story of knowledge and faith through the meditative embrace of the Fabergé’s legendary coloured gemstones.

We filmed at Fabergé’s London Boutique and fashion featured is by Dolce & Gabbana and Saint Laurent Paris courtesy of MRPORTER.COM. The Romanov necklace itself was previously worn by Lana Del Rey in a shoot with Solve Sundsbo for Vanity Fair and Mila Kunis in a recent Gemfields campaign shot by Mario Sorrenti), it is valued at £3.5million. The original score is by the inimitable Monarchy (you can see their video and single featuring Dita Von Teese here).

Mila Kunis by Mario Sorrenti for Gemfields, wearing Fabergé

Having spent the day at Fabergé HQ shooting a short film (out in the next few weeks), I got to spend an immense amount of time in the presence of (and wearing a part of) this iconic three million pound emerald and diamond necklace worn by Mila Kunis below in the campaign for Fabergé parent company Gemfields to support ethical mining. Mila was photographed by Mario Sorrenti and styled by Anastasia Barbieri. Lana also wore this in Vanity Fair a few months ago.

Gemfields’ designer partners include Alexandra Mor, Amrapali, London jeweller Dominic Jones and of course Russian luxury brand Fabergé.

After months of rumour and speculation, it has finally been confirmed that Mila Kunis is the new face of Dior. Black Swan truly did propel the actor to mega stardom. Here are the images of Mila as Miss Dior by Mikael Jansson along with a great behind the scenes shot. The campaign will break in international editions of Elle, Vogue and Madame Figaro from January 15, followed by Italy, Russia and France. It will debut in the U.S. in The New York Times on January 29, followed by a range of American monthlies, including Vanity Fair and Harper’s Bazaar.
