The first track from an entirely new era. The disco elements are really strong, the production is beyond beautiful, the vocals are vintage Marina, the aesthetic is still to be confirmed fully but it is dark and hypercolour thus far which is a bleak contrast from the faded Electra Heart era. You can really feel this, emotionally.

Marina and the Diamonds + Charli XCX – Just Desserts

Two of pop’s favourites du jour have teamed up on a brilliant collaboration track called Just Desserts. Marina and the Diamonds and Charli XCX have been friends for some time (evidenced by touring together, various “pop-sister” comparisons and their mutual love for each other on social media). Their fan-bases overlap a fair bit too which is why this track is about to become a fast favourite.

Marina just dropped a new video and track that she has hinted about through previous Tweets. “E.V.O.L” forms “PART 8” of the Electra Heart video journey and was presumably directed once again by Caspar Balslev. The track is available for free download by clicking here.

The campaign images by Tim Bret-Day for Hasan Hejazi’s capsule collection of three luxury evening dresses, inspired by Marina have arrived. In line with the creative of the fashion film (of which we saw a preview last week), the ‘Wedding Bells’ series truly highlights the incredible creative/muse relationship that Hasan and Marina have held over the last three years.

Pop’s favourite heartbreaker Marina and the Diamonds has collaborated with British breakthrough fashion designer, Hasan Hejazi, on a fashion film (using the track The State of Dreaming from her sophomore album Electra Heart). The clip titled ‘Wedding Bells’ was shot by music video and fashion film director Thomas Knights (click here if you missed Thomas’ latest video with Karin Park).

The full video and a shoot by acclaimed fashion photographer Tim Bret-Day will be released on 29 November, in the meantime, here’s a 30-second teaser. Marina is wearing a dress from the Hasan Hejazi limited edition capsule collection inspired by her.

Nael Hamwi, a concept artist and animator from Ontario, Canada has created an incredible digital painting of Electra Heart – the alter ego (and sophomore album title) of Marina and the Diamonds. It is pretty incredible. Check it out, along with the original Electra Heart images for the promo campaign by Caspar Balslev below. Marina’s new album is out on 30 April and thus far, it is sounding beyond incredible.
