Our obsession with Mango In Euphoria seems to grow with every release. The last track that we featured was when the star shared notions of self-realization with the defiant, reflective, and empowering single, CHAMPAGNE PROBLEMS, so when we heard that she was back with ARM CANDY, poignantly released on Valentine’s Day, we couldn’t wait to immerse ourselves in her universe once again and share our experience.

ARM CANDY opens with bold and immersive vocals as Mango In Euphoria sings, “I’m thinking lately, I need to have a face-to-face with you, when I ask the question, will you tell me the truth…”. We are immediately intrigued by the pop star’s perspective, narrative, and introspective depth.

The track unfolds with a luscious and dimensional 80s adjacent synthscape, almost like a James Bond 007 movie soundtrack. The production is sublime, synth-pop at its finest. As for the message, ARM CANDY is about confronting a lover who seems tempted by superficial fame, lust and materialism.

Mango In Euphoria shares how she feels that there needs to be a direct, truthful conversation (“face-to-face”) because she senses her muse is drawn to shallow pleasures (“sell your soul,” “arm candy,” “lust and pornography”), and possibly another person who doesn’t really compare to her.

There appears to be tension between illusion and reality. Mango In Euphoria is aware of these uncomfortable truths. Ultimately, it’s about jealousy, self-worth and notions of frustration with someone who is “blind” to the genuine connection she thinks they share.

It’s masterfully written, and to see Mango In Euphoria bring this to life in both English and French the accompanying music video, directed by Camille Alexander, is nothing short of delightful. She is so charismatic and unique, captivating and mesmerizing, not to mention the fiery on-screen connection with her new permanent bassist Falko!

We learn that ARM CANDY is part of Mango In Euphoria‘s upcoming EP, LETHAL LUST – a project she has described as “centered on men in the industry who dismissed and underestimated her for a couple of years.”

We recently featured Mango In Euphoria when she teamed up with Princess Stephen to unleash a fiercely ethereal Eurodance inferno of camp, confidence, and club culture with MISSION, so when we heard that the incredible rising pop star was back with the poignantly titled, CHAMPAGNE PROBLEMS, we were curious to say the least!

Enticing us with a fierce electric guitar soundscape and an astral frequency, CHAMPAGNE PROBLEMS opens with an almost dark-wave rock energy and spoken word delivery as Mango In Euphoria shares the words, “Gave you nothing but praise and love, do I have to ignore you to get something from you? I’m not interested in playing toxic games forever, you can spice it up but still be the one I count on….”

In essence, the song is about disappointment and realizing someone’s true nature after giving them love and support. The star feels hurt because she gave everything – elements of praise, affection and trust – but really received ungratefulness and betrayal.

It also explores the sentiment of frustration of dealing with someone caught up in fame, ego and superficiality. The lyrics talk about “applause in the crowd” and “champagne problems,” suggesting a partner who values popularity and luxury over genuine authenticity. The star sees through this fake lifestyle and decides not to wait for that person any longer.

We love the creative ebbs and flows with the production and the playful synth solo for the meditative middle eight solo whilst the pulsing and high octane rhythm of the track pursues, leading us to a peaceful finale, representative of the sentiment of the artist’s journey.
