Next up is Brutes, which opens with a lo-fi frequency before Lorsay‘s singer Orey shares a falsetto vocal and textured responses, in turn generating a meditative and sometime haunting vibe. We appreciate the charismatic delivery, and the intentional nature of the sonic landscape which feels like psychedelic trip-hop.

We could imagine these songs being performed at The Bronze in Buffy The Vampire Slayer, and the mantra-esque delivery of the hooks is somewhat transcendental. Eastern cosmic sound design creates a stunning bridge for the already elegant composition before an anthemic final reprise.

Invasion opens with an organ-synth, creating a moody frequency before we are greeted by a breathy vocal that fans of Morcheeba and Portishead would absolutely be able to connect with, although there is no doubt that Lorsay are creating a universe of their own. The song expands with a rock edge for the choruses, falling back to the more dark-dreamscape, creating a mesmerizing ebb and flow for the composition.

Next is I Try to Remember which opens with introspective themes and a minimalist sound design before evolving with instrumental mastery to take us on an immersive journey.

Finally, Running on That III opens with metallic and cerebral sound design before we move forward in synch with the creators. We love the glitched nuances and spoken word middle eight before a dimensional finale.

Formed in 2020 and based between Paris and the south of France, we learn that Lorsay is led by Alex Gomez (guitar, machines), singer Orey, bassist Rémy Peyrot des Gachons, and keyboardist Fred Chauvin.
