Setting the tone with a high octane garage-meets-indie rock soundscape, Kingfisher open their song, Molten Gold with the conceptual lyrics, “A turtle, a hare and a maiden fair, the aged orator lays it bare, red hoods in threatening woods, morality traded like common goods…”

The song expands to tell intricate and thought provoking stories of classic tales, survival and the human condition. `The song is theatrically arranged from section to section, with each part carefully instinctive created, and features a transcendental and psychedelic bridge that we cannot get enough of!

The band features Julian, who is from Colombia on guitar and vocals, Nich, who is Italian on drums and Affe, who is Swedish on bass, thereby delivering an international vibe and distinct sound.

Fans of Bloc Party, Muse, Placebo and Franz Ferdinand will be able to connect with Kingfisher, although it is clear that they are designing a universe of their own.

Molten Gold is the third track to be released from the band’s EP of the same name, which also features Heartbeat and Spinning Around. All three songs work together cohesively. Heartbeat has a vibrant energy and features the emotive hook “As we listen to the heartbeat of our lives…”

Spinning Around is a heavier track and features the introspective hook, “Spinning around, spinning around, rundown, spinning in all directions to back down, walking along, roaming around unbound, dwelling upon those questions that are found…”

The band has also just released Maybe Not, which features super catchy hook, two epic instrumental segments, a guitar solo to remember and a chant-esque finale as the band delivers atmospheric harmonies that have us feeling euphoric.

Speaking on their creative process, the band says, “We care about the artwork behind the music and that is why we take the time to work carefully on the cover of every single. The covers represent duality therefore there is always two objects: two lights, two candles, two windows, two windmills, two lampposts. Maybe pinpointing bipolarity, or maybe ying and yang, or what the listener and viewer can interpret.”

Expanding on their intentions, Kingfisher say, “The band has a branding ambition: spread an environmental friendly vision across fans and industry pros. We would like to be seen as such: eco-friendly band with a unique diverse music style.”
