Setting the tone with an immersive riser as it expands into an intricate soft-band, dream pop frequency, Kerin Maguire sings the introspective lyrics, “Time moves slowly, for the lonely, even in the here and now…” to open her new single, Saw You In A Dream.

The release marks Kerin’s first release since 2015, which the rising artist describes as “taking solace in literature and language [and] inspired by American poet Emily Dickinson”, she adds “[it is] what I imagine her modern day perspective would be about life and love.”

We are obsessed with the high concept and enigmatic, atmospheric soundscape that Kerin has created. Some lyrical highlights include the hook, “I think I saw you in a dream… maybe it’s not how it seems, sometimes things aren’t meant to be, but this is everything to me…”, and the profound and self-realized, “I might be hollow, but I’m not sad though…”

Speaking on her inspirations, Kerin cites Julien Baker, Regina Spektor, Brandi Carlile and Jenny Lewis, however it is clear that the artist from Boston is forging a path of her own.
