Drawing us in with an alternative rock soundscape, Keith Woodhouse opens Timeless with a sentimental Brit-rock vibe that reminds us of early Blur, showcasing charming prose with a captivating timbre.

The opus expands with instrumental mastery and brooding vocals as Keith shares metaphorical depth and a tangible notion of authenticity. We appreciate the familiarity and the high emotional quotient that transmutes from Timeless.

The composition manifests a psychedelic rock adjacency, and creative ebbs and flows which align with the hook “rivers to the sea.” Of course, fans of Blur and The Doors might be able to connect with what Keith Woodhouse is bringing to life, but there is also a Leonard Cohen-esque mood that feels apt here. That said, Keith boldly states he has no musical influences, telling us that he would write and create in the exact manner, even if he were the first musician to ever live! This is when you know that what he is creating is a direct line from the universe.

With over forty years in music, it is clear that Keith is a seasoned guitarist and songwriter with a rich back catalog and deep musical wisdom. This really comes through with Timeless. We learn that the song was indeed written and recorded in a Care Home for Vulnerable Adults, bringing raw authenticity to its production.

It is no surprise that Keith is a published poet, with works released through Vanguard Press, in turn reflecting his deep lyricism. There is a spiritual nature to his words, and we learn that the mystical line “Sweet halogen strikes mercury across the everlasting skies” draws from astrological knowledge, specifically that Virgo is ruled by Mercury.

Keith has also worked with professional musicians, including Paul Lamb, former bassist of the Boo Radleys, and continues to gig locally, recently finishing three open mics and preparing for his next show at The Seven Stars in Totnes.
