Short Film: Jaguar F-TYPE presents Desire

Branded content comes in many forms these days, but budgets don’t always allow for legitimate masterpieces to be created. When Jaguar announced that they had signed Lana Del Rey and were planning to create a film for the F-TYPE Desire campaign that was produced by Ridley Scott Associates, it hinted at the gravitas of the investment behind this vehicle. Seeing it come to life today in the form of a thirteen minute short film starring Golden Globe winner Damian Lewis, Shannyn Sossamon, Jordi Mollà with a soundtrack by Lana is absolute perfection.

This is a work of art and a beautifully directed piece of content – I had the pleasure of viewing it on a massive HD projector with surround sound, so if you have the chance to replicate that (and take the time to enjoy it as you would a feature film), do it. Following the release of Lana’s Jaguar music video for “Burning Desire” comes the trailer for a short film in association with Ridley Scott Associates, which also features the Jaguar F-TYPE. The film stars Golden Globe and Emmy Award winning actor, Damian Lewis alongside Jordi Molla and the incredible Shannyn Sossamon. The film is out in full later this Spring. The soundtrack? Lana’s Burning Desire, of course.

Music Video: Lana Del Rey – Burning Desire featuring the Jaguar F-TYPE

Back in August 2012, it was announced that Jaguar had agreed a collaboration with Lana Del Rey as part of the campaign for the Jaguar F-TYPE – a stunning two-seater sports car that was unveiled in Paris in September.

The campaign thus far has featured rich content including a Ridley Scott produced short film and now a music video featuring Lana singing ‘Burning Desire’.

This is the first video in a while that we’ve seen Lana tone it down somewhat – it’s less plot based than Ride and National Anthem, but works perfectly for the F-TYPE with great archive visuals interspersed throughout (Video Games, Carmen, Kinda Outta Luck, Diet Mountain Dew).

The director was Anthony Shurmer and the video was filmed on location in South East London at the Rivoli Ballroom.
