The concept sprang from Moede’s need for an emotionally distinct track to anchor his album, Psycho Matic Bat Crazy. The song lay dormant for years, a rough sketch awaiting its own lightning strike of inspiration. It wasn’t until Moede revisited the piece in a reflective moment that its essence became clear: a call for love that doesn’t ask the other to compromise their soul.

In an unorthodox creative process, Moede’s kitchen became the birthplace of the track’s foundational rhythm. The tapping of guitar wood and stomping feet formed the skeletal framework, captured on a humble H2 Zoom recorder. Through digital alchemy, Moede manipulated the acoustic guitar with subharmonic effects, creating an otherworldly resonance akin to the hum of Frankenstein’s lab. This creative risk, combined with group vocals that echo communal longing, brings a theatrical yet deeply personal energy to the song.

Though it’s nestled as the fifth track on the Psycho Matic Bat Crazy album, Don’t Wanna Be Your Frankenstein emerges as a thematic cornerstone. You may know by now that we have been featuring the last couple of releases from the innovative Jade Moede as he took us for a spin on Drive On Skirtzy and when he delivered the bouncy and conceptual single, Ooo La La Rachel’s Stuff, so we were glad to have the chance to review his latest offering, Rosey My Zombie Girlfriend!

Enticing us with an atmospheric beat-boxing energy fused with textured hums, Jade Moede opens Rosey My Zombie Girlfriend with the intriguing lyrics “There is a secret, out there in the world…”

The opus expands into a conceptual art rock vibe that has us hypnotized. Speaking on the meaning of the song, Jade Moede says, “Rosey My Zombie Girlfriend is about a girl who was wronged and hence became a zombie!”

He elaborates, “Now to the boyfriend’s surprise, Rosey was suppose to go to heaven, but instead sought revenge. The passion of this operatic, sing along, sightly twisted, but oh so classic fulfilling revenge bopping, determined find lost love song. Just tickles a smile onto the people, who ponder the wonder.”

We love Jade’s unique style, the way that he communicates his narratives, and this particular operatic revenge escapade! Jade Moede delivers passion with his concepts and performance, and is truly creating a dimension of his own! The rising artist is a drummer, singer, songwriter, strums guitar, can stub his toes on the piano, and loves to create music. The multi-disciplinary artist is also currently learning how to play the cello, which we really enjoy on this composition!

Always uniquely titled, the original artist opens his latest adventure with pulsing guitar, a car turning on, with drums as he sings, “Hello there, I like ya, I am a low rider, driving the car, life on the go, no little worries, riding the road…”, with his signature and iconic delivery.

Speaking on the inspiration of the track, Jade Moede says, “What inspired Drive On Skirtzy is the love of cruising the drive… bonding with a vehicle that you had no idea you’d love for a very long time.”

“It really came from the heart of my old car, which happened to be a couch on wheels. And oh man, she could fly when stepped on the metal, hence her skirt in the air was cruising down the line. She was heaven to drive”, expands the emerging artist.

Jade Moede is a drummer, singer, songwriter, who loves to create music. He is currently learning how to play the cello and already plays and records with guitar, piano, vibes and bass.

When discussing his influences, Jade cites Queen, the Violent Femmes, and laughter, and it is clear that Jade is creating his own universe.

Jade’s innovative lyricism is always laced with optimism and when discussing the creative process for Drive On Skirtzy, he says, “I recorded the tracks at home, Then went to Jon Evans at Brick Hill, where I recorded studio drums over all the tracks. It needed to be beefed up and his drum room and studio is just magic and such a pleasure to create there. Jon Evans is a great guy, who engineered and mixed the song. It was then sent to “Peerlessmastering” and both Jeff Lipton and Maria Rice were the Mastering engineers. Jeff and Maria are my super sonic heroes, man they are fantastic, and just super cool to be around.”
