We recently wrote about iHATEJON and his polished ode to self love, iGOTME, so we were thrilled to hear that the rising artist had just released his new single, See No Evil.

Setting the tone with enigmatic panning synths, whilst echoing vocal details deliver cerebral spoken word excepts of “hear no, speak no, see no…”, See No Evil expands to deliver an eloquent and introspective flow from iHATEJON.

The alternative hip-hop star settles the score with toxic relationships on the track, and assesses his boundaries as he delivers the poignant lyrics, “She took my heart and she abused it, but I didn’t mind that, she took my heart off of the music, and I can’t get that time back…”

The composition serves as a catharsis for iHATEJON, offering a “remedy to this toxicity in the form of focusing on himself, his music, and living in the present”. After all, he is a Cancer, and often that means being deeply connected to our emotions.

See No Evil was brought to life in collaboration with Italian producer kleo. iHATEJON, who hails from North Carolina cites artists such as J Cole, Mac Miller, Dominic Fike and Lil Peep as influences, although it is clear that he is creating a dimension of his own.
