Hasan Hejazi AW13-14 Lookbook featuring Victoria Keon-Cohen

Womenswear designer Hasan Hejazi showcased his AW13-14 collections at the W Hotel in London yesterday as a follow up to his recent collaboration with Marina and the Diamonds. The collection features some incredible pieces in garnet, blush pink and black with hints of metallic. Fabrics include suede, leather, silk lurex crepe, heavy silk morrocain giving the collection an almost an 80s Spartacus meets Barbarella vibe. Here’s your first look at the complete lookbook photographed at Rankin’s studios by Dominic Storer featuring Victoria Keon-Cohen.

The campaign images by Tim Bret-Day for Hasan Hejazi’s capsule collection of three luxury evening dresses, inspired by Marina have arrived. In line with the creative of the fashion film (of which we saw a preview last week), the ‘Wedding Bells’ series truly highlights the incredible creative/muse relationship that Hasan and Marina have held over the last three years.

Pop’s favourite heartbreaker Marina and the Diamonds has collaborated with British breakthrough fashion designer, Hasan Hejazi, on a fashion film (using the track The State of Dreaming from her sophomore album Electra Heart). The clip titled ‘Wedding Bells’ was shot by music video and fashion film director Thomas Knights (click here if you missed Thomas’ latest video with Karin Park).

The full video and a shoot by acclaimed fashion photographer Tim Bret-Day will be released on 29 November, in the meantime, here’s a 30-second teaser. Marina is wearing a dress from the Hasan Hejazi limited edition capsule collection inspired by her.

Whilst on the topic of KARLISMYUNKLE collaborators, British young designer Hasan Hejazi, with whom I co-curated/creative directed the Circus fashion installation with last month just released a set of images from a shoot featuring his archive pieces from both AW 2010 and SS 2011 on location at Malta’s Golden Bay beach following his show last week. Check out the images below, shot by Kris Micallef along with a final image of the installation that we created, shot by Eric Phillips.

The story behind the installation: British designer Hasan Hejazi (Kylie, Marina and the Diamonds, Fergie, Sugababes and more) and KARLISMYUNKLE (Nik Thakkar) collaborated to create “Second Skin” – a work of pop-art inspired by Pedro Almodóvar’s The Skin I Live In to celebrate the Circus: Masquerade Ball. Bringing Hasan’s archive collection back to life using a transparent second skin, the installation reflects the overarching narration of the acclaimed director’s latest dramatic release.

As I announced earlier this week, KARLISMYUNKLE and legendary club night This is…Circus are coming together to host the Circus: Masquerade Ball. Under the cut are a few talent previews from the “surrogate nephews and nieces of Karl Lagerfeld” (Hasan Hejazi, Bright Light Bright Light, Eric Phillips and Munroe Bergdorf) of what you can expect tonight.

Last night, Hasan and I were nailing the creative direction of the fashion installation and we’re both really excited to share the final details before it goes live tonight.

Young British designer Hasan Hejazi (Kylie, Marina and the Diamonds, Fergie, Sugababes and more) and KARLISMYUNKLE (Nik Thakkar/me) have collaborated to create “Second Skin” – a work of pop-art inspired by Pedro Almodóvar’s The Skin I Live In to celebrate the Circus: Masquerade Ball. The film is absolutely incredible and I would seriously recommend anyone to see it. Without spoiling the film, one of the soundtrack highlights was without a doubt the Chris Garneau cover of the late Elliott Smith’s Between The Bars.

As I announced on the KARLISMYUNKLE Facebook page this weekend, Jodie Harsh‘s super iconic club night This is…Circus will have a taste of KARLISMYUNKLE for this Bank Holiday Sunday’s Masquerade Ball.

VIP at Cafe de Paris (the stunning boudoir-esque area) dubbed PRIVE will be hosted by the blog and will feature a fashion installation from one of London’s hottest young designers Hasan Hejazi, Marie-Antoinette style costume masks featuring the blog’s pop culture muses including Karl Lagerfeld and Lady Gaga and DJ sets from transveral icon Munroe Bergdorf and Rod Thomas of electro-indie outfit Bright Light Bright Light. Uber creative club night and portrait photographer Eric Phillips will be on hand to capture all of the action.

In the main room, you will be witness to London’s most outrageous costumes as guests outdo themselves with mind-blowing facial cover-ups and DJ sets by Jodie Harsh, Kris Di Angelis and Joshyou Are.
