Drawing us in with a meditative synth and ethereal female vocal, SoReal opens Glass Hearts – Act II with the metaphorical lyrics, “Glass heart but I walk like steel, I smile right but I forget how to feel, you reach out but I pull apart cos every touch might shatter my heart…”

The opus expands with a padded kick, textured hi-hats, and a dimensional bassline with the rapped verse, “I can see you through my eyes but my vision is destroyed, I survived in the city but I’m lost in the void, same corner, same cycle, same weight on my chest, and I learned how to function without taking breaths…”

We immediately connect with the vulnerability and deep authenticity that transmutes with SoReal‘s prose. The poetic prowess is tangible, and what the artist is sharing feels relatable and cinematic. He paints such a vivid picture with his words, perfect for a sync placement in a TV show like Euphoria on HBO, or Beauty in Black on Netflix.

SoReal reminds us of the conscious rap delivery of early Warren G, and Buck 65, but there is no doubt that he is designing a sonic and video universe of his own.

Speaking on the narrative of the song and video, the artist confesses, “Following Act I, where everyday struggle gives rise to a shadowy force of temptation, this chapter introduces the Muse – a quiet embodiment of an alternate path grounded in connection and emotional truth. As two opposing forces begin to take shape, the story explores the fragile space between what we chase and what we need.”

We learn that the song was produced with Onik Zero, and the video was directed by Eli Lev.
