We previously featured Cossmo when he tapped into a high emotional quotient and took us on a self-realized journey with his single, home alone, so when we heard that the talented artist was back with games, we were curious to say the least, and couldn’t wait to listen and share our experience.

Drawing us in with an intricate guitar soundscape and padded drums, Cossmo shares introspective depth with the words, “Don’t you try to hide it, I’m not as dumb as you think I am, I’ll do it my way, I’m bored of pretending I still care, yesterday thought I was dying, today the sun is shining again, I’m done with trying…”

There is an assertive and conscious nature that manifests with the track as Cossmo asserts his boundaries with poetic prowess. We appreciate the relatability, but also the deep sincerity that comes to life at a time when we need it the most.

Sure, the lyrics resonate on an interpersonal level, but there is clearly a bigger picture at play here, not only about individual mental health, but the collective, and how it is highly important for us to tap into this inner strength.

Cossmo says that games is about “a feeling of quiet exhaustion and the sense of life in a jar – being confined by pressure, expectations, and social norms.” He adds, “Beneath its calm surface lies suppressed frustration, but also a moment of clarity: I don’t wanna play these games anymore.”

The cinematic vibes of the song would make it perfect for a sync placement in a Sofia Coppola or Luca Guadagnino film, and fans of Postal Service and MGMT, as well as the previously mentioned Jack Johnson, Jason Mraz, and Sufjan Stevens, would be able to connect with what Cossmo is creating.

We learn that the song was written during a short retreat in Graubünden, where Cossmo set up a small studio on the kitchen table and wrote the track in 20 minutes. games is the final preview of Cossmo‘s upcoming EP «so much noise, not a sound» due out in May 2026, with co-production and mixing by Giuliano Sulzberger at Porchhouse Studio.
