Establishing a mood with immersive keys and the situational yet introspective lyrics, “Two empty seats, now I’m sat at the bar, just watching time passing by, three drinks down, no-one around, my heart is still in the clouds…”, Galaxy Thief open Reason with emotion and poetic nuance.

Reason expands into an anthemic indie-pop meets alternative-rock energy and we are hypnotized. The song depicts the romantic tale of love at first sight, which results in “4am stargazing and the electrical chemistry which leaves two people captivated in each other”. Galaxy Thief confess, “We’ve written this track as an anthem for the live festival season.”

We also learn that Reason was created with the intention to be fun and light hearted, which we feel come through in the composition, and we adore front man Rhys Messenger‘s vocal prowess and charisma.

The opus was engineered, mixed and produced by Michael Smith at RYP Recordings and mastered by Andy ‘Hippie’ Baldwin at Metropolis.

Rising from an emerging band, into an established presence on the live indie and rock scenes, Galaxy Thief are now firm favourites on festivals stages including the iconic Bestival!
