I remember when Chaser was in pre-production and have followed the story of the film through the festival route (which proved very fruitful!), but today was the first time that I actually saw it. My mind was blown. Max Rhyser’s performance is Hollywood-worthy and I truly hope that this sets him off on the trajectory that he deserves as an actor.

Chaser is a 15-minute short exploring Zach (a young gay school teacher)’s self-destructive journey through New York’s gay scene. Culturally it speaks volumes whether it has enough time within the 15 minute time frame to address these issues is another question. Let’s hope that this allows Sal Bardo and Max to build on this cultural note with a feature.

Short Film: Jaguar F-TYPE presents Desire

Branded content comes in many forms these days, but budgets don’t always allow for legitimate masterpieces to be created. When Jaguar announced that they had signed Lana Del Rey and were planning to create a film for the F-TYPE Desire campaign that was produced by Ridley Scott Associates, it hinted at the gravitas of the investment behind this vehicle. Seeing it come to life today in the form of a thirteen minute short film starring Golden Globe winner Damian Lewis, Shannyn Sossamon, Jordi Mollà with a soundtrack by Lana is absolute perfection.

This is a work of art and a beautifully directed piece of content – I had the pleasure of viewing it on a massive HD projector with surround sound, so if you have the chance to replicate that (and take the time to enjoy it as you would a feature film), do it. full film: lady gaga fame directed by steven klein

Last night at the Guggenheim in New York saw the official launch of Lady Gaga’s FAME fragrance – the first ever black eau de parfum. By now we have seen all three thirty second TVCs for the campaign directed by Steven Klein and produced by Ridley Scott, but now here is the chilling full five minute long concept film. To celebrate the launch, Gaga also partook in a creative piece of performance art called Sleeping With Gaga, where she took a nap on a live stream at the launch where the guests attempted to wake her by placing their hands through a glory hole in a giant FAME bottle at the museum.
