The star tells us, “Eat the Ash is about burning everything you thought you needed in order to feel free—and then devouring what’s left. It’s a song of total surrender, total power, and soul-level transformation. It’s a sonic offering to whatever forces dare to meet you at your full intensity. It’s about love so big it breaks you open… and makes you more eternal because of it.”

Jenny Maybee cites Massive Attack, Sevdaliza, and Nine Inch Nails as sonic inspirations for the track which manifests in the trip-hop nuance, the darker elements and the visceral raw nature. She also mentions “a cinematic experience akin to Björk‘s dreams” – this comes through with the more experimental detailing.

The song was recorded once again at The Mad Scientist Studios in Sebastopol, California, where “the recording process embraced restraint, ensuring that every sound earned its place, resulting in a spellbinding and unforgettable musical journey”.
