Establishing the mood with a vibrant guitar and banjo soundscape, intertwining to manifest Irish-folk brilliance, Dysmusia opens Another Night with a situational take on a proverb as he shares the lyrics, “Just getting leathered with birds of a feather, we all flock together…”

The opus expands with uilleann pipes to tap into a timeless energy with a narrative that feels familiar and cinematic at the same time. There is no doubt that Another Night would be perfect for multiple sync placements, perhaps a film like Irish Wish, Split Milk, or Power Ballad.

We deeply connect with the raw authenticity and humanity that transmutes with Another Night. The message feels grounded and in line with the culture both sonically and thematically, but also highly zeitgeist considering the state of reality, particularly the era that the song references. The instrumental interlude is sublime and the emotional quotient is high, whilst the prose itself is philosophical.

Dysmusia confesses, “Another Night was written about the lockdown and [its] effect of virtual pubs and virtual video call drinks, WhatsApp groups etc.” The artist adds, “It realises the carnage that can come with it when the bar never shuts and next-day regrets in general from drinking. Or maybe that’s just me.”

We learn that Dysmusia is an Irish musician whose sound merges the folk traditions of Antrim with modern indie rock influences. He was raised in a deeply musical family, where Irish country and show band culture shaped his daily life. Dysmusia taught himself guitar at the age of eight and later formed a family band at sixteen.

Gaining early radio play and winning a Battle of the Bands led to his first studio sessions. Although he stepped away from music to pursue university, and later lived in London and Salford, Manchester, but his passion never faded. After returning to the studio in September 2025, Dysmusia has already earned radio plays across the UK and Ireland, re-emerging with a renewed voice that fuses his Antrim roots with a contemporary indie sound.

Needless to say, we are in awe, and have added Another Night to our New Music Spotlight playlist, and our TIMELESS playlist, whilst we continue to stream the wider discography of Dysmusia, including Attach and Sever, and Sirens and Wails.
