<iframe title="Spotify Embed: Intertwined - acoustic" style="border-radius: 12px" width="100%" height="152" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen allow="autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; fullscreen; picture-in-picture" loading="lazy" src="https://open.spotify.com/embed/track/58zJK5FOYBXSAdvCBKD6nn?si=98cc19a84d474f42&#038;utm_source=oembed"></iframe>

<p>We previously featured <a href="https://karlismyunkle.com/2024/12/01/echoes-of-transcendence-a-philosophical-dive-into-delta-of-venus-disengaged-and-slipping/"><strong>Delta of Venus</strong>’ <strong>Disengaged</strong>, and <strong>Slipping</strong></a>, so when we heard that the talented project was back with the acoustic version of <strong><em>Intertwined</em></strong>, we simply couldn&#8217;t wait to share our experience of both the original version and the stripped back opus!</p>

<p>Drawing us in with glistening acoustic guitar strums and textured drums with percussion nuances, <strong>Delta of Venus </strong>opens <strong><em>Intertwined &#8211; acoustic</em></strong> with a question, &#8220;Where are they flying to?&#8221;. This feels metaphorical and as the song expands we understand the universal and high concept message that transmutes. </p>

<p>The soundscape itself is sublime &#8211; timeless in many ways, but still holding a high emotional and spiritual quotient. As for the prose, we are taken an introspective journey filled with poetic prowess and relatable concepts that encourage us to think and feel. We immediately notice the self-referential notion of &#8220;twin&#8221; from the singer&#8217;s name featured within the title of the track.</p>

<p>Ellery calls the song &#8220;a shoegaze experiment.&#8221; The star elaborates, &#8220;During rehearsal for the upcoming recording date at Dirt Floor Recording and Production, bassist <strong>Mat Tarbox </strong>suggested we do an acoustic version of <strong><em>Intertwined</em></strong>, as a sort of off-hand comment designed to get a group laugh. And, we did laugh, at first.&#8221;</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img data-recalc-dims="1" fetchpriority="high" decoding="async" width="1020" height="1020" src="https://i0.wp.com/karlismyunkle.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/05/a0269895950_10.jpg?resize=1020%2C1020&#038;ssl=1" alt="" class="wp-image-47894" srcset="https://i0.wp.com/karlismyunkle.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/05/a0269895950_10.jpg?resize=1020%2C1020&amp;ssl=1 1020w, https://i0.wp.com/karlismyunkle.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/05/a0269895950_10.jpg?resize=632%2C632&amp;ssl=1 632w, https://i0.wp.com/karlismyunkle.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/05/a0269895950_10.jpg?resize=768%2C768&amp;ssl=1 768w, https://i0.wp.com/karlismyunkle.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/05/a0269895950_10.jpg?resize=100%2C100&amp;ssl=1 100w, https://i0.wp.com/karlismyunkle.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/05/a0269895950_10.jpg?resize=1536%2C1536&amp;ssl=1 1536w, https://i0.wp.com/karlismyunkle.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/05/a0269895950_10.jpg?resize=2048%2C2048&amp;ssl=1 2048w, https://i0.wp.com/karlismyunkle.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/05/a0269895950_10.jpg?w=1200&amp;ssl=1 1200w" sizes="(max-width: 1000px) 100vw, 1000px" /></figure>

<p>The band tells us, &#8220;<strong><em>Intertwined</em></strong> is a musing on existing in a chaotic world, and finding empathy for even people you have never met.&#8221;. They ask, &#8220;Do you feel it?&#8221; and I think that the simple answer is a bold &#8220;yes!&#8221;. We are enthralled by the universe that the band manifests, and love the original version of Intertwined just as much as the acoustic &#8211; we appreciate its clarity and dimensionality. The band are really showing us that they have the potential to create across a broad spectrum of genres, and this level of genius is what really makes them stand out as masters of their art. </p>

<p>We have added <strong><em>Intertwined &#8211; acoustic</em></strong> to our New Music Spotlight playlist, and our TRIPPY and TIMELESS playlists, whilst we continue to stream the wider discography of<strong> Delta of Venus</strong>, and anticipate future releases from their exquisite, ever-growing discography. </p>

<p><strong>Delta of Venus</strong>’ reemergence with <em><strong>Disengaged</strong></em> and <em><strong>Slipping</strong></em> after decades of dormancy feels less like a return and more like an alchemical refinement of time, memory, and sound. These songs don’t just unfold; they meditate, refract, and ascend, offering a deeply cerebral and evocative listening experience that transcends the traditional structures of songwriting.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-spotify wp-block-embed-spotify wp-embed-aspect-21-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio"><div class="wp-block-embed__wrapper">
<iframe title="Spotify Embed: Disengaged" style="border-radius: 12px" width="100%" height="152" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen allow="autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; fullscreen; picture-in-picture" loading="lazy" src="https://open.spotify.com/embed/track/4phrbHmJBejGtJin42B8cV?si=4eb918e9fb8743aa&#038;utm_source=oembed"></iframe>
</div></figure>

<p><em><strong>Disengaged</strong></em> is a sonic embodiment of disassociation and discovery, a journey that begins with its textured drum patterns &#8211; a pulsing reminder of something primal and rhythmic at the heart of human experience. The bass guitar weaves an enigmatic thread, grounding the listener amidst astral acoustic guitar flourishes that feel like fragments of starlight caught in an atmospheric haze. This layered soundscape invites introspection, as if each note unlocks an unspoken truth within the listener’s subconscious.</p>

<p>The track’s strings arrangement deserves particular acclaim. It doesn’t merely accompany the other instruments but rather acts as a guide, as though leading the listener through the labyrinth of their own emotions. The metaphoric prose of the lyrics amplifies this experience, speaking to universal themes of detachment, reflection, and the pursuit of meaning. The high emotional quotient and the haunting timbre of Issy’s vocals render this track both intimate and cosmic—a balance rarely achieved. It is as though the song breathes, pulling you into its orbit with a gravitational pull as mysterious as the stars.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-spotify wp-block-embed-spotify wp-embed-aspect-21-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio"><div class="wp-block-embed__wrapper">
<iframe title="Spotify Embed: Slipping" style="border-radius: 12px" width="100%" height="152" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen allow="autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; fullscreen; picture-in-picture" loading="lazy" src="https://open.spotify.com/embed/track/7gIO005TGWvWX7TwjnK86u?si=36cef5f6eb474139&#038;utm_source=oembed"></iframe>
</div></figure>

<p>Where <em><strong>Disengaged</strong></em> feels like an astral voyage, <em><strong>Slipping</strong></em> is the descent into the quiet, contemplative spaces within. The opening acoustic soundscape, intertwined with meditative frequencies, creates a temporal pause &#8211; a stillness that feels profound rather than passive. The bass guitar enters like a heartbeat, steady and grounding, while Issy’s delicate vocals cascade with a vulnerability that resonates deeply. Her voice carries the weight of yearning and fragility, as if she is both searching for something lost and guarding a secret she cannot yet share.</p>

<p>What stands out in <em><strong>Slipping</strong></em> is its cohesion. The themes, though subtle, ripple through each sonic layer like concentric circles in a still pond. This is music that understands its purpose &#8211; to reflect life’s quiet agonies and transient joys, without resorting to overt declarations. It doesn’t demand attention; it earns it, gently compelling the listener to lean in and experience its beauty. The cinematic quality of the track is undeniable, its every note painting a scene that feels ripe for the silver screen &#8211; intimate yet universally relatable.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img data-recalc-dims="1" decoding="async" width="1020" height="678" src="https://i0.wp.com/karlismyunkle.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/12/Delta_20_Oct_2024_band_shoot_030_BW_corrected_darkness_smaller_cropped.jpg?resize=1020%2C678&#038;ssl=1" alt="" class="wp-image-45430" srcset="https://i0.wp.com/karlismyunkle.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/12/Delta_20_Oct_2024_band_shoot_030_BW_corrected_darkness_smaller_cropped.jpg?resize=1020%2C678&amp;ssl=1 1020w, https://i0.wp.com/karlismyunkle.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/12/Delta_20_Oct_2024_band_shoot_030_BW_corrected_darkness_smaller_cropped.jpg?resize=632%2C420&amp;ssl=1 632w, https://i0.wp.com/karlismyunkle.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/12/Delta_20_Oct_2024_band_shoot_030_BW_corrected_darkness_smaller_cropped.jpg?resize=768%2C510&amp;ssl=1 768w, https://i0.wp.com/karlismyunkle.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/12/Delta_20_Oct_2024_band_shoot_030_BW_corrected_darkness_smaller_cropped.jpg?w=2000&amp;ssl=1 2000w" sizes="(max-width: 1000px) 100vw, 1000px" /></figure>

<p>The absence of traditional verse-chorus structures in both songs reflects <strong>Delta of Venus</strong>’ philosophy: music as a process of movement and evolution rather than static repetition. Each track becomes a living entity, revolving and unfolding rather than resolving. This architectural approach to composition, where movements overlap and intertwine, feels like an auditory manifestation of how human thought works &#8211; layered, recursive, and nonlinear.</p>

<p>It is remarkable that <strong>Delta of Venus</strong>, whose origins lie in an intentional rejection of conventionality, has maintained their experimental ethos. Yet these songs are not experiments in the raw, chaotic sense. They are deliberate, polished works that reflect decades of growth, adaptation, and self-awareness. The inclusion of Issy’s vocals adds a new dynamic, her performance imbued with a fresh, almost serendipitous energy that complements the band’s seasoned instrumentation.</p>

<p><em><strong>Disengaged</strong></em> and <em><strong>Slipping</strong></em> are not merely songs but philosophical explorations of what it means to create, to feel, and to connect. They speak to the impermanence of life and the enduring power of collaboration &#8211; old and new, familiar and unexpected. These tracks remind us that art thrives in the liminal spaces between certainty and ambiguity, where the only constant is change. <strong>Delta of Venus</strong> has not just returned; they have transcended, crafting music that lingers long after the final note fades. We have added both tracks to our New Music Spotlight playlist, and TIMELESS playlist!</p>
