<p>We have developed quite the obsession with <strong>The Project</strong>, having featured a slew of their singles over the last year or so, including the <a href="https://karlismyunkle.com/2024/05/08/the-project-tap-into-the-emotional-nature-with-meticulous-and-timeless-new-track-all-i-ever-needed/">meticulous and timeless, All I Ever Needed</a>, as well as the <a href="https://karlismyunkle.com/2024/04/22/the-project-tease-upcoming-album-with-timeless-and-nostalgic-new-single-no-hard-feelings/">nostalgic, no hard feelings</a>, so when we heard that the band was back with <strong><em>Death Of Me</em></strong>, we couldn&#8217;t wait to listen and share our experience! </p>

<p>Kicking off with a dynamic, classic rock energy with astral guitars and textured drums, intertwined with a fierce ad lib of &#8220;aye&#8221;, <strong>The Project</strong> open <strong><em>Death Of Me</em></strong> with poignant prose as they sing, &#8220;All you ever want is my sympathy, you don&#8217;t stop until you get what you need, you twist the knife just to see if I&#8217;m still alive&#8230;&#8221;</p>

<p>The opus expands with dimensionality, and poetic prowess that points a finger at the muse of the song and rebuttal, &#8220;I won&#8217;t ever let you be, let you be the <strong><em>Death Of Me</em></strong>&#8230;&#8221;. The sound is the perfect pop-punk vibe that fits into the 2000s cinematic niche, where we could imagine the song as the score of a high school movie break up scene or even a comedy horror. </p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img data-recalc-dims="1" fetchpriority="high" decoding="async" width="1020" height="733" src="https://i0.wp.com/karlismyunkle.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/04/IMG_2009.jpeg?resize=1020%2C733&#038;ssl=1" alt="" class="wp-image-47361" srcset="https://i0.wp.com/karlismyunkle.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/04/IMG_2009-scaled.jpeg?resize=1020%2C733&amp;ssl=1 1020w, https://i0.wp.com/karlismyunkle.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/04/IMG_2009-scaled.jpeg?resize=632%2C454&amp;ssl=1 632w, https://i0.wp.com/karlismyunkle.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/04/IMG_2009-scaled.jpeg?resize=768%2C551&amp;ssl=1 768w, https://i0.wp.com/karlismyunkle.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/04/IMG_2009-scaled.jpeg?zoom=2&amp;resize=1020%2C733&amp;ssl=1 2040w" sizes="(max-width: 1000px) 100vw, 1000px" /></figure>

<p>The guitar solo is giving <strong>Queen</strong> levels of refinement, soaring, out of this world, with a touch of <strong>Led</strong> <strong>Zeppelin</strong>. The repeated hook feels like an affirmative mantra in some senses, reminding us that no-one can truly take our power! We too are invited to &#8220;draw the line&#8221; and make sure that we are indeed in control of our reality! </p>

<p><strong>The</strong> <strong>Project</strong> features an all-star lineup, featuring members from renowned bands such as <strong>Face to Face (Dennis Hill), Shameless (James Davis), Eagles of Death Metal (Scott Shiflett), BulletBoys (Jimmy D’Anda), Stephen Pearcy/RATT (Erik Ferentinos), </strong>and<strong> Lit (Kevin Baldes)!</strong> This explains the high quality, timeless output and engineered sonic perfection that their tracks manifest. </p>

<p>Naturally, we will be adding <strong><em>Death Of Me </em></strong>to our New Music Spotlight playlist, and our TIMELESS playlist when it comes out on Spotify, whilst we continue to stream the wider discography of<strong> The Project</strong>, and anticipate future releases!</p>
