Drawing us in with an intimate piano performance and textured percussion, DayEyez open Mine with situational and metaphorical depth as we experience a delicate initial timbre and the lyrics, “I watch the clock, it′s never on my side, the minutes crawl when I’m waiting for you, the world′s demands, they keep us both confined, but all I need is just a moment of truth…”

The opus expands with an explosive and anthemic chorus as DayEyez profess their love with the hook, “I can’t be sharing your heart all of the time, I want you to be all mine…”

Mine holds a message of the emotional strain of a relationship that’s being tested by time and distance. DayEyez express the frustration of waiting for their muse, and how external factors prevent them from being in close proximity.

At the heart of the song is a relatable message of longing for more. It feels poignant and synch deal friendly for a romantic film with a coming of age storyline that reflects the narrative of the track. Mine captures the fear of growing apart and the hope to hold onto real love. It’s a plea for closeness and emotional security despite what a faded future might hold.

Frontman Shaun Dayman, based in Richmond, New Zealand confesses, “It’s a drum-heavy, atmospheric ballad about the strain modern life puts on love — inspired by a real moment when I realised I’d only get 30 minutes with my wife after work before she had to leave for her shift.”

He adds, “It’s about wanting more time with someone you love, not out of control or insecurity — but because that time feels like the only thing that matters. And when you’re getting so little of it, you start to want all of it. ”

We learn that the project features the support of AI-driven production, an innovative approach to song creation that we appreciate – especially as it only seems to amplify the emotional quotient of the song. The band cite Imagine Dragons, Linkin Park, and Matt Hansen as influences, which we can see, but there is no doubt that DayEyez are manifesting a universe unto their own.
