Daphne is an always has been a multi-platform artist. The live performances, artistry, acting roles, the unparalleled and incomparable iconography and more recently so, a natural and welcome foray into music. The highlight being the visual representation of her mind in collaboration with various other creatives. We saw the video for Fatal Flaw last year directed by Nick Knight and now comes the breathtaking video for Evening In Space, directed by David LaChapelle. The track itself was produced by Tony Visconti (Bowie, T.Rex, The Stranglers) and is the first single from Guinness’ upcoming debut album, due for release in September 2014. Frankly speaking, the song is brilliant, refreshing and an angle visually and sonically that has yet to be evolved, I am here for Daphne Guinness paving the way for a reemergence of 70s art-rock. The video features fashion from Iris van Herpen and Noritaka Tatehana.

Trailer: SHAKKI – A Short Film by Julien Landais starring Daphne Guinness

Paris-based actor, director and producer Julien Landais has just unveiled a set of teasers and the trailer for SHAKKI – his short conceptual film starring Daphne Guinness alongside himself, Laura Eastwood, Andrea Ferreol, Dragan Nikolic, Emily Caillon, Christophe de Choisy, Clémentine Landais, Gerhard Freidl and Sarah Biasini.

The story centres around Martin – a character who has the power to enter other people’s bodies and dominate their souls through a Faustian deal. Below are the teasers and two images from the set shot by none other than Ellen Von Unwerth. SHAKKI will be screened at Diane Pernet’s ASVOFF 6 in October.

Music Video: Daphne Guinness – Fatal Flaw

Musically speaking ONLY – it’s kinda like the lovechild of Morrissey and Shirley Manson – lyrically, emotionally and sonically with a touch of Siouxsie and the Banshees – however still completely unique. SHOWstudio just released the video for ‘Fatal Flaw’, Daphne Guinness’ first single. The clip features a set of psychedelic visuals which I’m not actually sure does justice to the track…well, not yet at least. It might have been predictable to expect a couture clad Guinness in 1080p shot with an Arri Alexa, I just suppose the track lends itself to a more cinematic approach – or maybe I just think that Daphne deserves that.

There is however a little gasp at two minutes and fifty seconds which is basically everything. Daphne’s vocals are incredibly impressive and you should ~~probably~~ definitely download the song at SHOWstudio.com on 20 June 2013 when it is released.

Creative icons Karl Lagerfeld and Carine Roitfeld have teamed up to create a book and digital exhibition featuring one star – the little black Chanel jacket. That which, according to Lagerfeld, “symbolises a timelessly fashionable form of nonchalant feminine elegance: [which] belongs to every era”.

The exhibition features over a hundred models and celebrities, all photographed by Karl Lagerfeld and styled by Carine Roitfeld. These include Sarah Jessica Parker, Daphne Guinness, Georgia May Jagger, Alice Dellal, Maïwenn, Laetitia Casta, Virginie Ledoyen, Baptiste Giabiconi, Uma Thurman, Kirsten Dunst, Akuol de Mabior and more. The images for the project were shot in Cannes, in the South of France, and then in New York, before finishing up in Paris in Karl Lagerfeld’s studio.
