It is no secret that we absolutely love Dani Twice, and have featured a slew of his previous releases. When we heard that the star was back was Fenix, we were curious to say the least, and couldn’t wait to listen and share our experience!

The opus expands with a fierce bass-line into an emo rap meets hip-hop hybrid adventure that feels immersive and conceptual. We particularly love the nuanced delivery and how Dani Twice seamlessly switches up his flow and vocal production to dimensionalize the track.

SAD BOY has a haunting feel by the time we reach the chorus, which is explained by Dani as he confesses, “This song helped me to exorcise all my demons!”

SAD BOY is the sixth single from Dani Twice‘s still untitled first album and is probably the most intimate and revealing song he has published thus far. We love the vulnerability and authenticity energy that Dani shares on the track, the warped vocals giving that demonic energy fused with the intricate production are literally out of this world and we are fully obsessed.

The opus is melodic and emo, and encompasses an emotional theme of depression and overcoming negative emotions as Dani talks about various stream-of-consciousness remarks about this upbringing. 

Elaborating on the composition of SAD BOY, Dani tells us, “The track is varied and shifting into the chorus evolving into a dark and nocturnal sonic landscape. Towards the end of the track the song descents into madness and the journey collapses within itself.”

We recently featured Dani Twice, as he raised awareness on immigration and violence with his single, JUMP, so we were thrilled to hear that the rising artist had just released a new single, BAG MAN.

Setting the tone with a dark and industrial Latin-hybrid frequency with moody synths, subversive horns and hip-hop drums, BAG MAN opens with the vulnerable lyrics, “Fuck a check, fuck the internet, I’m upset, filling me with fears and regret…”

The song expands into an emotional anthem, as Dani begs to be taken far away, whilst he delivers a message for many suffering from anxiety and depression caused for the explosion of the internet and social media.

BAG MAN is Dani Twice’s fifth single from his first, as yet untitled, album. We love the additional energy that collaborator Tony Narvaez brings on the track, as the two artists bounce off each other about “the search for the place where the release and pleasure can be found in this overly connected world, we are living in.”

The overall sonic landscape is bold and triumphant, with an epic Colombian and Latin influence on a dark industrial track, which is often quite rare in the mainstream. The epic bass is referenced in the song as Dani delivers the line “straight earthquake when the bass hit my feet, its nature to me, brain vacation for free”.

Boasting a distinctive panning beat with cosmic high hats and a fierce 808, our attention is immediately captured as we explore Colombian/American artist Dani Twice‘s new single, Jump.

The rising independent singer-songwriter, producer, and visual creator has a message, which we love, as conscious and intentional art are the foundations of this platform.

Speaking on the track, Dani Twice says, “I believe it is necessary for young people to understand what immigration and violence are really about.”

On the track, the artist raps, “jump, you better jump, to get to heaven, better jump”, the philosophy runs deep as the provocative lyricist explores what many people feel while leaving everything behind and becoming a refugee in a foreign land with its own violence problems.

Our minds are open and we are ready to explore.

Dani Twice wrote this song a few years ago while collaborating as an animator with a Seattle-based non-profit to raise awareness about the Syrian refugee crisis through a YouTube campaign.

The artist’s moody and futuristic delivery juxtaposed with the harmonic flute and ancient vocal chants which add depth and texture to the track, giving it a transcendental feel.
