<p class="wp-block-paragraph">We previously featured<strong> <a href="https://karlismyunkle.com/2022/05/13/xpq-21-delivers-existential-commentary-on-determinism-with-high-concept-new-single-machines/">XPQ-21</a></strong><a href="https://karlismyunkle.com/2022/05/13/xpq-21-delivers-existential-commentary-on-determinism-with-high-concept-new-single-machines/"> for the existential commentary on determinism, Machines</a>, and the <a href="https://karlismyunkle.com/2024/01/15/xpq-21-returns-with-dimensional-and-thought-provoking-opus-where-minds-collide/">dimensional and thought-provoking opus, Where Minds Collide</a>, so when we heard that the talented artist was back with <strong><em>Dance The Devil</em></strong>, we were curious and excited to listen and share our experience. </p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Setting the tone with a cerebral descending synth and industrial, cyber textures with an avant-garde overarching energy, <strong>XPQ-21 </strong>opens <strong><em>Dance The Devil</em></strong> with a statement of intent as he sings, &#8220;Today, [I] would like to share a little something with you, [uh] and let you into my home&#8230;&#8221;</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">The opus expands with a charismatic, brooding vocal delivery reminding us of <strong>David Bowie</strong> and early <strong>Pulp</strong> as <strong>XPQ-21</strong> takes us on a wild ride indeed! There is subversion that manifests, poetic prowess, and a cinematic allure &#8211; perfect for a Matrix sequel or a movie like Limitless. </p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph"><strong><em>Dance The Devil</em></strong> serves as a declaration. It is a a surge of defiance and self-belief, and written for those fighting invisible wars. <strong>XPQ-21</strong> tells us how it is about notions of resilience over ruin, and a stark reminder that power is found within. The message itself manifests like a punch:&nbsp;<em>Hell isn’t somewhere else. It’s inside you</em> &#8211; and the only escape is through confrontation! </p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img data-recalc-dims="1" fetchpriority="high" decoding="async" width="1020" height="1360" src="https://i0.wp.com/karlismyunkle.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/10/XPQ-21_Dance_The_Devil02217_co_hq_crop_4.jpg?resize=1020%2C1360&#038;ssl=1" alt="" class="wp-image-50355" srcset="https://i0.wp.com/karlismyunkle.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/10/XPQ-21_Dance_The_Devil02217_co_hq_crop_4.jpg?resize=1020%2C1360&amp;ssl=1 1020w, https://i0.wp.com/karlismyunkle.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/10/XPQ-21_Dance_The_Devil02217_co_hq_crop_4.jpg?resize=632%2C843&amp;ssl=1 632w, https://i0.wp.com/karlismyunkle.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/10/XPQ-21_Dance_The_Devil02217_co_hq_crop_4.jpg?resize=768%2C1023&amp;ssl=1 768w, https://i0.wp.com/karlismyunkle.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/10/XPQ-21_Dance_The_Devil02217_co_hq_crop_4.jpg?w=1339&amp;ssl=1 1339w" sizes="(max-width: 1000px) 100vw, 1000px" /></figure>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Musically, the song is an explosion of dark adrenaline fusing elements of industrial, EBM, and cyberpunk with the urgency of post-punk and the atmospheric sweep of new wave. The production itself is raw, elegant, harsh and hypnotic. </p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Behind the <strong>XPQ-21</strong> moniker stands <strong>Jeyênne</strong> &#8211; a visionary artist who once electrified the 90s rave and techno scene, touring with legends like <strong>The Prodigy </strong>and <strong>Moby</strong>. Now, as XPQ-21, he channels decades of rebellion and raw experience into a sound that feels both futuristic and primal. </p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">We have added <strong><em>Dance The Devil</em></strong> to our New Music Spotlight playlist, and our TRIPPY playlist, whilst we continue to stream <strong>XPQ-21</strong>&#8216;s cohesive, growing discography, and anticipate future releases! </p>
