Setting the tone with outside frequencies and the soundscape of a car starting and pulling off, followed by enigmatic synths, we are immediately immersed in the first track of DaeMarcus‘s album Trials & Errors.

The opener, Don’t Wait, features a textures grunge vocal delivery as DaeMarcus contemplates reality as he sings, “you can’t stop this ride…”, and encourages us to let God enter our lives, so that we can become what we are meant to be. We love the message already and feel inspired. “Don’t wait, let this life set you free”, sings our protagonist.

DaeMarcus says, “Don’t Wait is about going after your dreams and not getting cought up in the noise that can take you off of your main goals that will lead you to your dreams. It’s about taking action now and not waiting, not allowing time to slip by while you sit around and hope that they just happen. To get up and take action and go after it!”

This Is It is the second track from the record and opens with celestial frequencies and vocal details with the noise of children and glistening bells. “I see a road ahead, one I haven’t taken” sings DaeMarcus as he looks into the future.

Speaking on the track, the rising artist says, it is about “knowing the moment your life is about to change and not being surprised by it. It’s about getting to that crossroad in your life and and taking a turn that is brand new and getting ready for that next adventure in your life.”

DaeMarcus is also known as Adam Araujo, speaking on his style and creative output, he says, “I’m an original song writer out of New Bedford Massachusetts. The style of music that I write is somewhat unique and hard to pin down but if I had to choose, I would say it is Indie pop with a dreamy new age ambience.”

The third song from the album is, As I Am, where the conscious artist fuses guitar and vocals as he sings about moving forward as he is. He sings about God and self-realization, themes that we love to dive into! The Cut is next and features a glistening guitar intro and more vulnerable lyrics from DaeMarcus as he sings about a relationship and his connection with a person that might not have turned out exactly how he imagined it. We love the guitar solo and nostalgic production of the track.

Some of DaeMarcus‘ influences are Tears for Fears, The Smashing Pumpkins, The Beetles, The Postal Service, Guster, Vampire Weekend, Keane, Till Tuesday and The Killers, which we can feel come through on this record!

Broken Clay takes on more somber and introspective lyricism and energy, whilst That’s Alright would fit perfectly in an Americana themed movie or TV show, this is one of our favourite tracks on the record, as we love the vocal layers and emotive delivery. Seesaw opens with a more experimental vibe and takes us on a more cerebral and world-music journey, as DaeMarcus sings “can’t decide, what’s wrong or right…”

Over The Hill opens with electric guitar and breathy vocals, as DaeMarcus delivers the lyrics, “any moment now could be the one that you’ve been waiting for…” as he sings about redemption and “one more chance to make this right”. Elegantly strummed acoustic guitar opens, You and Me as DaeMarcus sings, “somethings are meant to be, one of them is you and me”. We love the build of the track emotionally and the hairs on our arms are standing up!

The final track on the record is Seventeen which opens which a cute guitar riff as DaeMarcus reflects on being seventeen. Going full circle, he sings, “I tried to break all the rules, it still lead me right back to you…”

We love the cohesive nature of the record, DaeMarcus‘s optimistic message and connection with the universe, and have added DaeMarcus‘s Don’t Wait to our New Music Spotlight playlist!
