Establishing the mood with a cerebral and ethereal soundscape with intricate textures and cosmic nuances, D3PRT opens You Will Never Know with dimensionality and intrigue. The opus expands with psychedelic detailing and a fierce breakbeat meets dubstep beat.

The industrial energy is juxtaposed by the more celestial elements, creating a subversive yet cinematic soundscape that would be perfect as the score of a film such as Limitless, or a TV show like MobLand. We appreciate the meditative moments when the beat pulls out, creating poetic ebbs and flows that invite us deeper into the composer’s universe.

The attention to detail is sublime, and we love the emergence of a subtle piano melody that adds to the already high emotional quotient of the piece. The keys have their own moment about three-quarters of the way into the track, which almost serves an astral middle eight before a final and robust bass reprise.

We learn that D3PRT is an independent artist, and You Will Never Know serves as his first release in 15 years. He confesses, “If I’m honest, I’m more proud of this and my upcoming music than previous stuff, as it’s been a big old journey in those 15 years.”

With reference to You Will Never Know, D3PRT tells us, “It is a dark, emotional, underground cut built on weighty low-end, broken garage rhythms and a sense of quiet tension. It sits in that late-night space between restraint and release – minimal, introspective, and heavy without shouting.”
