The song expands to tell the story of growing up. Speaking on the creation of the track, Cliff says, “I wrote it by envisioning myself skipping stones by the shore a tranquil pond while reminiscing over my past.”

The rising artist from Miami continues, “As I skip stones, I realize that my parents are getting older, I have become disillusioned with love and my childhood dreams have become poisoned by cynicism and greed. In a time of such intense sadness, the only thing that can provide me with solace is admiring the simplicity of stones skipping joyfully across the water.”

Lyrical highlights include the introspective “Maybe I should stop being so cynical”, the self-aware “When you′re always stoned and you’re running from your home”, and the evolved “Used to be scared of change, now I’m scared to stay the same”, and we are obsessed with the stunning and detailed guitar solo outro of the song.

Speaking on his artistry, Cliff says, “Although my music combines several genres including blues, hip-hop, and rock, I would simply describe it as pop, because of its focus on simplicity and catchy melodies as well as lyrics.”
