Immersing us with arpeggiated plucked guitar, Chris Considine reminisces as he opens Dream Away with charm and intrigue. Speaking on the inspiration of the track, Chris tells us, “This song was based on a memory I had when I was younger. There was an old restaurant called The Dream Away Lodge, and I am simply returning to that time to tell you a story!”

We are in awe of Chris’s flow on Dream Away, coupled with his luscious harmonies. He sings emotively, “I guess this is my best attempt, showing you what the hell you meant to me, you were so damn close, yet so far away…“

The song expands with Chris Considine‘s iconic sound, fusing acoustic guitar with textured soundscapes and percussive details, although the BPM of Dream Away is higher than what we are used to with Chris’s vibe, we are equally obsessed and love the unique way that he delivers this story.

“You were just a Dream Away”, sings Chris on the hook as the song builds into a luscious folk-rock meets power pop vibe. The poetic nuance of his lyricism is out of this world and we love the authenticity that Chris delivers his opus with.

Chris confesses, “This song is about longing for something or someone, while knowing they are far away from you. The only remedy to longing is a dream”, and we feel that energy come through in so much depth as the track evolves with electric guitar and additional harmonies that dimensionalize the composition.

Citing The Beatles and James Taylor as influences for the record, we appreciate the inspirations, but Chris Considine is definitely creating a sonic identity of his own.

Establishing the mood with atmospheric, intricate layered guitars and a textured synth, Chris Considine opens Force of Nature with the situational and emotive lyrics, “Well, I’ve been driving all night long, the radio is blasting, whatever they’re broadcasting… I finally show up at your home, your tears are growing oceans, your windows left wide open…”

Force of Nature evolves into an indie-rock meets power-pop hybrid energy as Chris tells the story of the “catastrophism that some experience with anxiety”, which is sometimes so bad that it trumps all logic and reason. The rising artist confesses, “This song is a plea to take a deep breath and to not let your bad thoughts win.”

We appreciate the empowering, authentic and vulnerable nature of the composition and Chris Considine‘s emotive delivery. Spiralling due to inner thoughts can he really intense and the purpose and intention of Force of Nature can only help those who experience the song to heal and learn by example.

We learn that Declan Mckenna’s Brazil was the main inspiration for the production of Force of Nature, and Chris tells us that the build up and choral section were inspired my MGMT and The Strokes.

Chris Considine cites Declan Mckenna, The Beatles, MGMT and The Strokes as some of his influences, which we can feel come through in Force of Nature, though it is clear that the rising artist from Lenox is creating a sound of his own.

Chris Considine started writing at the age of 15 and he is now 28. Before being a solo act, he played with a group called Dugway (based off of the road he grew up on). Dugway has since disbanded, but while playing, they were almost signed on three separate occasions to record deals, although they ended up never taking the offers.

Setting the tone with a drums and a dimensional bassline, with intricate guitar details and keys, Chris Considine opens his single, No Baggage with the hook, “No Baggage, when I leave this Spring, no luggage weighing down on me…”

The song expands with Chris Considine‘s magnetic vocal delivery and luscious harmonies, into an introspective piece about freedom, escapism and the human condition. Speaking on the sentiment of the song, Chris says, “This song is a carefree, persona creating single with a lot of funky elements to it. Escapism is the key theme and leaving everything behind without a second thought is the driving force.”

Chris Considine has been heavily influenced by The Beatles from a young age, and picked up influences from James Taylor, John Denver and more modern artists like Hazel English, Delta Spirit, and Shakey Graves, which we can see come to light in his work, although it is clear that he is creating a universe of his own.

When Chris was writing this song at an early age of 22, he was focusing on the persona exuded by the artist Jason Mraz when he performed live. However, he wanted to take that persona and darken it. He adds, “Emptying your head of hardship was the inspiration [for] this song.”

We love the direction that Chris Considine is taking and the authenticity with which he creates, particularly the way that he delivers the emotive nature of the song, with charm and nuance.
