Drawing us in with a fierce rock’n’roll energy featuring bold guitars, raw ad-libs and high-octane drums, Sig and The Fire Pilots open LITTLE BLACK DRESS with timeless notions and a stadium-ready energy. The opus expands with the lyrics, “Living the dream, red blood racing in me, hitting the scene, mesmerised, hypnotized…”

We love the stripped-back punctuations and the intricacy of the performances. There is a cinematic allure to the track and we could imagine walking down Melrose Avenue in Los Angeles, playing this on maximum volume.

As for the narrative, we learn that the song is an ode to the iconic Little Black Dress, invented by Coco Chanel exactly 100 years ago in 1926. Speaking on the ferocity of the release, the band comments, “This is a cracking rock song, a stomper of a track. It drives and cuts straight down the middle, pulling no punches and slapping you straight in the face.”

We could definitely imagine this being featured in a modern CHANEL documentary, or perhaps a remake of Pretty Woman. The guitar work is sublime and manifests a cohesive tapestry of sound with dynamic bass and drums. The instrumental mastery that the band exudes is undeniable. The guitar solo is simply transcendental, and we appreciate the poetic prowess and captivating hooks.

Sig and The Fire Pilots is a Cannock-based rock act formed in 2021. They fuse classic rock foundations with a modern edge, and it is no surprise that the band has earned a reputation for energetic live shows that win over new audiences and keep loyal fans coming back.

If you’ve been watching Scream Queens on FOX (or an illegal online platform near you) you may have noticed the immaculate styling of the Kappa Kappa Tau sorority, particularly Chanel Oberlin played by Emma Roberts. CHANEL just unveiled the Baz Luhrmann directed No. 5 campaign film featuring Gisele Bündchen and Dutch actor Michiel Huisman. A decade later, this follows on from Baz’s Nicole Kidman CHANEL No.5 campaign from 2004.

Bündchen plays a surfer, a mother and a model – the new epitome of the CHANEL woman. The soundtrack? “You’re The One That I Want” from Grease covered by Lo-Fang.

Keira Knightly reprises her role as the muse of CHANEL’s Coco Mademoiselle alongside Russian actor and star of Vampire Academy Danila Kozlovski (smart move, Unkle Karl). The new commercial, directed by Joe Wright, is (it’s fair to say) pretty cheesy, but it does perfectly bring to life the unique and carefree style of Coco Mademoiselle. The soundtrack of “She’s not there” by The Zombies is a definite winner.

Fashion’s first truly pioneering femme du monde is immortalised at The Gemeente Museum den Haag, bringing to life Gabrielle Coco Chanel’s innumerable influences, little black dresses and even a homage to current Creative Director Unkle Karl Lagerfeld.

Chanel – The Legend exhibition features a special collection of original designs from the 1920s and ‘30s, including costume jewellery and unique creations worn by stars such as Marlene Dietrich.

CityJet now offers up to nine flights daily to Rotterdam from London City.

I’ve met Unkle Karl three times, the first time was during Paris Fashion Week at the Vogue Bar at the Hotel de Crillon about three years ago, the second at the launch of his Diet Coke bottles in Paris and the third, which was by far the most intimate, was when he launched his exclusive collection for she uemura (that day I was at his studio/library at 7L – somewhere that has been significantly photographed and seen by press all over the world).

For the first time now, Karl has let us into his home. Ok, so he took the photos himself and it is not as if anyone was casually browsing his drawers, but still. His apartment is located in the Quai Voltaire in Paris and presented Architectural Digest with a set of photos of every room of his beautiful apartment. He said that he wanted an apartment with glass and transparency everywhere, and no colour as colour is something he is constantly surrounded by and he prefers to live in a neutral environment. This is such a beautiful reason to love monochrome.
