Carlos Ucedda is an innovative and avant-garde rising artist that we have been featuring over the last few months. Recent releases include Open Poison, Black Rose – Your Chastity (Part Two), Inflatable e-Doll — Parte One, and Garden of Letters, so naturally, when we found out that Carlos was back with Dose Of Love, we were curious to say the least, and couldn’t wait to immerse ourselves in his universe once more.

Opening with a pulsating synth, cerebral static riffs, ethereal vocals and bold percussion hits, Carlos Ucedda opens Dose Of Love with a dramatic, progressive techno energy that expands with a mind-bending vocal performance to lure us into his mindset.

There are notions of Björk‘s All Is Full Of Love linked to the introductory hook, but what Carlos is manifesting is true to his own design. The raw mix lends itself to authenticity and we are mesmerized by the subversive dark-wave energy.

We appreciate the dynamic synth performance and the operatic elements that come to life – something that is becoming signature to Carlos Ucedda‘s overarching discography. There is a haunting vibe that transmutes, again, familiar ground for the progressive artist.

Carlos tells us, “This song is about love as both a journey and a waiting — the balance between distance and closeness, the hope carried like wings in the wind, and the embrace of the sun as a symbol of eternal connection.”

The accompanying music video sees Carlos Ucedda in the golden hour, maximising with the sun’s radiant energy. It is cinematic and well shot – minimalist in terms of editing and scenes, but maximalist in awe and inspiration, aligned with the concept of the track as Carlos showcases his choreography.

Speaking on the release, Carlos says, “After years away from music due to work, I am now ready to return and share my art with joy and versatility, exploring different genres and vocal registers. My roots are in lyrical singing, particularly Baroque and sacred music, with formal training from 1994 to 2004, including studies at Juventudes Musicales and the Centro Profesional de Música (Scaem), where I also joined a chamber choir.”

He adds with reference to his vast career, “I participated in masterclasses at the 1998 Manuel de Falla Courses in Granada with Helena Lazarska, and in 1999 earned a certificate with merit from The Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music. My past performances include venues such as the Auditorio Manuel de Falla, Teatro Isabel la Católica, and Teatro Huétor Santillán in Granada. Since reactivating my musical path in 2021, my aim is to continue creating and sharing music with as many people as possible.”

We have added Dose Of Love to our New Music Spotlight playlist and our TRIPPY playlist, whilst we continue to stream Carlos Ucedda‘s growing discography, and anticipate future releases from the talented artist.

We have been intently following the evolution of Carlos Ucedda, so when we heard that the talented artist was back with a track called Open Poison, we were curious to say the least, and couldn’t wait to listen and share our experience.

Carlos Ucedda is an avant-garde soul from Granada in Spain, who shares his unique philosophies, and perspectives through trippy and cerebral art that feels nostalgic, pioneering and subversive at the same time.

Open Poison kicks off with a siren-esque synths and an intricate piano performance with static textures and astral frequencies that feel more melodic and refined as the artist’s vision has progressed. We are enthralled by the soundscape, and the detail that we are experiencing. A boundless rhythmic guitar envelopes us to guide us towards hummed vocal ad libs.

Carlos shares his soul through the medium of his voice – tapping into a Freddie Mercury style wail, and operatic nuances, coupled with a brooding lower range. The strings arrangement coupled with his vocals is totally sublime.

On the story and theme of the song, Carlos confesses, “This song is a reflection inspired by the most influential vampire mythology, representing toxic friendships – those who appear with good intentions but are harmful beneath the surface. It’s a battle between good and evil, and ultimately, about facing the painful truth of false, self-serving connections.”

With reference to his artistic influences, the artist adds, “I was inspired by dark, gothic, operatic elements – blending Neue Deutsche Härte, Gothic Rock, and mystical, vampiric mythology. Artists like Unheilig and the crossover style of Sarah Brightman deeply influenced the essence of this release.”

Commenting on the song’s unique message and significance, Carlos says, “What makes this release stand out is the lyrical depth and the portrayal of manipulation – how weak minds can be influenced and driven into apathy and fear, losing their identity in the process. It’s a call to confront and reclaim your true self.”

Naturally, we have added Open Poison to our New Music Spotlight playlist, and our TRIPPY playlist, whilst we continue to stream Carlos Ucedda‘s growing discography, including Inflatable e-Doll, Black Rose – Your Chastity, and Garden of Letters!

By now, you will know that we have been actively supporting the rise of Carlos Ucedda, having featured his recent single releases and music video universe, so when we heard that the emerging talent was back with Black Rose – Your Chastity (Part Two), we were curious to say the least, and couldn’t wait to explore his creative mindset once again.

Black Rose – Your Chastity (Part Two) opens with a subversive and industrial soundscape with dramatic elements including a dimensional synth and bold static bass. Atmospheric ad libs invite us further into his world, and reminds us of early Lady Gaga with the classic, “oh la la” riffs.

He confesses, “I was inspired by German House and Techno, and there’s a halo of Lady Gaga in the sound. This release reflects a new direction for me – still personal, but with a darker, electronic edge.”

The opus expands with Carlos’ philosophical vibe and immersive vocal design. There is an almost breakbeat meets techno element to the track with a plucked, rhythmic synth and textured toppers, fused with dramatic risers. The track is danceable, fierce and assertive.

We learn that the track serves as a sequel to Inflatable e-Doll, which was the first part of the story. Carlos tells us how the two releases are connected, but are also opposites, like yin and yang. This work, specifically, is about chastity. The intention is to explore how lost and alone people can feel.

With reference to the song’s deeper meaning and emotion intensity, he adds, “This work is about chastity – about how guilt, emotional obsession, and fear of loneliness can turn a relationship into a prison. It’s the shadow side of love, like a black rose discarded.”

The music video for the track feels like a scene from a Pedro Almodovar film, if you took acid. As always, Carlos shows off his unique style, and cerebral performance manner, further cementing his iconography.

Carlos Ucedda‘s Inflatable e-Doll — Part One is a hypnotic blend of synth-pop and ethereal soundscapes, reminiscent of a fusion between The Cure’s brooding romanticism and Grimes’ futuristic playfulness. The track carries a distinct DIY ethos, evident in its raw yet polished production, and its ability to transport the listener into a neon-lit dream world. With pulsing electronic beats, atmospheric synth layers, and a subversive vocal design, this song is both timeless and unmistakably modern, a danceable yet introspective pop odyssey.

What sets Inflatable e-Doll — Part One apart is its conceptual depth. The song explores agalmatophilia, a rare and provocative theme centering on attraction to statues, dolls, or mannequins. This lends the track an eerie yet sensual undertone, akin to stepping into a surreal love story between human and machine. The shimmering instrumentals create an otherworldly quality, enhancing the emotional and psychological layers of the song’s narrative. It’s a sonic and thematic experience that challenges conventional pop storytelling while remaining highly infectious.

The accompanying music video embraces a bubblegum-pop aesthetic, drenched in shades of pink, showcasing Ucedda as a commanding presence within his own artistic world. The visual contrasts the haunting nature of the song’s theme with an almost playful, hyper-stylized portrayal of power and desire. There’s a performative strength in the way Ucedda presents himself – something that fans of David Bowie’s transformative, theatrical approach to music will undoubtedly connect with.

Sonically, the track leans into 80s and 90s influences, echoing the melancholic synth-driven anthems of Jay-Jay Johanson while injecting a modern electronic pulse. The layered production, meticulously coordinated with studio professionals, creates a dynamic interplay between nostalgic reverence and cutting-edge experimentation. The song, as part of Ucedda’s Proyecto 2 (BILOGY/DILOGY), exists as one half of a larger artistic statement – two interlinked yet contrasting musical pieces that reflect duality, much like the yin and yang concept.

Listeners may find themselves drawing connections to the film Lars and the Real Girl, but reimagined for a new generation of digital-age romantics. There’s an element of human longing in the track, an exploration of emotional attachment in a hyper-technological world where love and obsession blur in artificial spaces. The song’s structure and tonal shifts make it feel like an ascent—perhaps an intentional nod to Ucedda’s reference to a sensual airplane journey, symbolizing both escapism and transcendence.

Ultimately, Inflatable e-Doll — Part One stands out as a bold, experimental, and deeply evocative release. Ucedda’s ability to intertwine philosophical and psychological themes with infectious pop melodies is a testament to his artistic vision. The track is provocative yet accessible, dreamy yet grounded, challenging yet endlessly replayable – a work that not only entertains but also invites reflection on the evolving nature of intimacy, identity, and desire in the modern age.

We have added the opus, which speaks volumes about the perception of gender non-confirming figures of the zeitgeist and how the are self-proclaimed dolls, to our New Music Spotlight playlist, whilst we await future releases from the star!
