Setting the tone with enigmatic bass plucks fused cohesively with textured vocals singing, “I’ve been on my sh**, I’ve been moving different”, we are already obsessed with Brystan‘s new single, Pyro.

We experience an immersive riser as the song starts to expand with percussion whilst Brystan delivers the opening line, “All I create is fire, you could call me Pyro…”

Pyro takes us on a subversive and poetic journey of intricate lyricism before the beat explodes into a trap-pop frequency, as Brystan gives us rap verses, sass and atmospheric vocals, reminiscent of Beyoncé and Nicki Minaj’s Flawless.

Speaking on the track, Brystan says, “I just want to capture the feeling of just feeling your best in a certain moment. On the days you wake up and just feel your best and your reaching goals and making progress for yourself.”

The rising artist from Tyler, continues “I write about things and feeling I experience on the daily in a way that hopefully resonates with other people. I think music is really important and I really want to connect with people through mine.”

We definitely feel connected with Brystan, who cites Jessie Reyez as one of her influences, but it is clear that she is creating a universe of her own.

Going deeper into the meaning of Pyro, Brystan says, “I feel like I’ve changed a lot over the past year and have been doing a lot more for myself unapologetically. I dont feel the need to explain myself to anyone nor do I feel like I need to compare myself to anyone. I wanted to write a song that captured that feeling of being a boss and saying you’re going to do something and actually doing it while also paying homage to Texas. I think it’s important to incorporate your culture and where your from in your music.”
