Establishing the mood with a brooding grunge-meets-math-rock adjacent guitar soundscape, with textured percussion and punk ad-libs, BruceBan$hee opens White Boy Wa$ted (WBW) with a level of subversion that we would expect from the title of the track and artwork!

The opening lyrics are “Going to California, I’m talking self-destruction…” which sets the tone for the anthem. Our protagonist shares notions of paranoia through the mantra of the track’s title, along with references to spaceships, a full moon and a snake pit.

Melodically, the track is sublime. We love BruceBan$hee‘s raspy timbre and the authenticity that transpires. In essence, White Boy Wa$ted is a wild ride with a cinematic allure – perfect for a montage in HBO’s Euphoria. The track is a perfect concoction of punk grit and rap swagger.

The song reflects BruceBan$hee’s DIY, genre expansive vision. He wrote, produced, mixed, and mastered everything himself. Even the cover art is his manifestation. BruceBan$hee cites influences like Ozzy Osbourne, Nirvana, and Mac Miller but we can also feel notions of The Sex Pistols coming through.

That said, there is no doubt that BruceBan$hee is designing a sonic universe unto his own. He confesses, “This track is the sound of me kicking down my own creative limits — no rules, no filters, just the chaos I live and breathe.”

White Boy Wa$ted stands out because it’s fearless. It doesn’t try to fit in. Instead, it thrives on rawness and unpredictability. It comes in at a mere 1 minute and 38 seconds which leaves us yearning for more and reaching for the repeat button!
