<p>Establishing the mood with a futuristic, astral synthscape with sublime, ethereal vocalizations building into a cerebral, glitch-pop energy with a grounded piano performance, <strong>Brother Dolly</strong> open <strong><em>As I Fall I Feel Alive </em></strong>with dimensionality and intrigue. </p>

<p>We immediately connect with the intricacy of the composition and the juxtaposition of the human element of the vocals and keys with the more conceptually designed electronica. The opus expands with poetic prowess, metaphorical depth and introspective lyrics. </p>

<p>Speaking on the message of <strong><em>As I Fall I Feel <strong><em>Alive</em></strong></em></strong>, <strong>Brother Dolly</strong> confess, &#8220;Inspired by the story of Puerto Rican boxer<strong> Paul Bamba</strong>, <strong><em>As I Fall I Feel Alive</em></strong> is an attempt to understand the moment between the fighter receiving a knockout blow and hitting the canvas.</p>

<p><strong>Brother Dolly</strong> question, &#8220;Do they feel free when falling? Do they eventually become addicted to the pain of the punch and ultimately crave it? Is there a sense of satisfaction in pushing the limits? Do we all share this trait in some way and is that why we sometimes go back for more when it seems illogical to do so?&#8221;</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img data-recalc-dims="1" fetchpriority="high" decoding="async" width="1020" height="1020" src="https://i0.wp.com/karlismyunkle.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/04/DOlly.jpg?resize=1020%2C1020&#038;ssl=1" alt="" class="wp-image-55509" srcset="https://i0.wp.com/karlismyunkle.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/04/DOlly.jpg?resize=1020%2C1020&amp;ssl=1 1020w, https://i0.wp.com/karlismyunkle.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/04/DOlly.jpg?resize=632%2C632&amp;ssl=1 632w, https://i0.wp.com/karlismyunkle.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/04/DOlly.jpg?resize=768%2C768&amp;ssl=1 768w, https://i0.wp.com/karlismyunkle.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/04/DOlly.jpg?resize=100%2C100&amp;ssl=1 100w, https://i0.wp.com/karlismyunkle.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/04/DOlly.jpg?resize=1536%2C1536&amp;ssl=1 1536w, https://i0.wp.com/karlismyunkle.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/04/DOlly.jpg?resize=2048%2C2048&amp;ssl=1 2048w, https://i0.wp.com/karlismyunkle.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/04/DOlly.jpg?w=1400&amp;ssl=1 1400w" sizes="(max-width: 1000px) 100vw, 1000px" /></figure>

<p>The conceptual and otherworldly track has a cinematic allure which would be perfect for a multitude of sync placements, perhaps an episode of <strong>Euphoria</strong> on <strong>HBO</strong>, or something more conceptual like <strong>Nine Perfect Strangers</strong> which has a psychedelic edge. </p>

<p>We learn that <em><strong>As I Fall I Feel Alive</strong></em> serves as <strong>Brother Dolly</strong>&#8216;s sophomore release, building on the debut,<strong> <em>Transmission Number 5</em></strong>. Part folk, part future, the band&#8217;s sound is stitched across time zones by singer-songwriter<strong> Dan Whitehouse</strong> between the UK and Japan, producer <strong>Jason Tarver</strong> in Barcelona, and sonic sculptor <strong>Tom Greenwood</strong> in Yorkshire. </p>

<p>We love what <strong>Brother Dolly</strong> are creating, and have added <em><strong>As I Fall I Feel Alive</strong></em> to our New Music Spotlight playlist, and our TRIPPY and TIMELESS playlists, whilst we continue to stream <strong><em>Transmission Number 5</em></strong>, and anticipate future releases! </p>
