Charli XCX is the voice of not one, but two generations. This video is a massive proof point. It goes back to 90s high school dark comedy era, inspired literally by Jawbreaker and even features a cameo from scream queen Rose McGowan. It also begs the question whether the video Fancy was actually Charli’s brainchild. Seeing Charli at the VMAs last night, holding her own with the emerging pop starlets was somewhat of a moment. She totally deserves this. Also, so hot.

Charli’s sophomore album Sucker is out October 21st via Neon Gold/Atlantic Records.
