Bohardt’s ILOVEU is more than just a shimmering synth-pop track – it’s a declaration, a moment of emotional surrender wrapped in neon-lit production and pulsating rhythms. From the very first note, the song engulfs us in a bold and dimensional synthscape, where nostalgia meets modernity in a euphoric collision. The opening synths create a sense of anticipation, as if standing on the edge of something life-altering, before the commanding yet vulnerable vocal performance ushers us into the heart of the experience. There’s an undeniable cinematic quality to this track, making it a perfect candidate for a rom-com movie montage or a pivotal reality TV confession scene.

At its core, ILOVEU captures the raw, unfiltered energy of finally speaking those three words: a phrase so simple yet weighted with infinite meaning. Bohardt doesn’t just sing about love; they embody its urgency, its pulse-racing excitement, and its inherent fear of vulnerability. The track’s anthemic melodies mirror the chaos and clarity that come with realizing and declaring love—echoing the universal experience of a heart pounding against the ribcage, unsure whether it’s about to soar or shatter. Fans of Robyn, CHVRCHES, and Carly Rae Jepsen will find solace in the familiarity of ILOVEU’s bright, driving production, yet Bohardt carves out their own unique sonic signature through layered vocal textures and nuanced emotional delivery.

We previously featured Bohardt for his exciting, genre-expansive single This Is What You Wanted, which showcased his ability to blur the lines between pop, dance, and alternative influences. With ILOVEU, he leans fully into an electrifying synth-pop aesthetic while maintaining his signature emotional depth. Where This Is What You Wanted explored themes of expectation and consequence, ILOVEU shifts to the exhilarating immediacy of confession and emotional release. This seamless evolution in his artistry proves Bohardt’s versatility, reinforcing his position as an artist who refuses to be confined to a single sonic lane.

Interestingly, ILOVEU clocks in at exactly 3.14 minutes – a subtle but clever nod to pi, the mathematical constant that represents an infinite, never-ending sequence. This detail adds an intriguing layer to the song’s concept, reinforcing the idea that love, much like pi, is boundless, irrational, and beautifully uncontainable. The act of saying “I love you” might seem definitive, but in reality, it opens up an endless expanse of possibilities, complexities, and unknowns. Love isn’t a neatly wrapped equation – it’s an infinite loop, a force that continues to evolve, expand, and defy logic, much like the spiralling digits of pi itself.

It’s a track that demands to be felt – whether it’s blasting through car speakers on an adrenaline-fueled late-night drive or playing softly in the background as someone gathers the courage to finally say “I love you” to the person who matters most. The high energy and infectious optimism of ILOVEU make it the kind of song that becomes a personal anthem, a sonic timestamp for a moment that changes everything.

Ultimately, ILOVEU solidifies Bohardt’s place as a rising force in synth-pop – an artist capable of translating deep, personal truths into universally resonant bangers. This track isn’t just about love; it is love in motion, a kinetic explosion of feeling wrapped in an irresistible pop package. If love is, at its essence, both terrifying and exhilarating, then ILOVEU is its perfect soundtrack. We have added the opus to our New Music Spotlight playlist, and our TIMELESS playlist, whilst we continue to stream Bohardt‘s growing discography!

Setting the tone with pulsing percussive drum details fused into an enigmatic and luxurious synth soundscape, we are already hypnotized by Bohardt‘s latest single, This Is What You Wanted.

We experience a riser before the Los Angeles based multi-disciplinary artist sings candidly, “Maybe you left me home but I’m crazy…” with a refined and emotive pop vocal.

Speaking on the themes of the track which include abandonment, broken communication, the human condition and desire, Bohardt wisely says, “It’s ok to still be in love with someone and choose not to be with them. Sometimes it’s best to recognize that you are better off.”

As the track expands, we experience exquisite textured vocals, unique down pitched layers, high end maximalist production and a refined and diverse soundscape fused with the artist’s message and broad and nuanced delivery.

This Is What You Wanted combines luscious ’80s-hybrid synth pop with elements of immersive underground house music. We love Bohardt‘s vocal range and emotive delivery that is genre expansive.

Speaking on his experience, he says, “I’ve been a part of many different musical acts for metal, pop punk, musical theatre, and now I now live in the Commercial/Alt Pop space.”

“I just want to write music that makes people feel better. Whether that means they want to dance or they just want to listen to the story”, continues Bohardt when discussing his artistry.

Bohardt cites Sam Smith, The Weeknd, Bruno Mars, X Ambassadors, LANY and Lauv as some of his influences. We can feel elements of these artists in This Is What You Wanted, although it is clear that Bohardt is creating a universe of his own.

We have added This Is What You Wanted to our New Music Spotlight playlist and have been exploring Bohardt‘s wider discography including Somebody Loved You and his EP, PHASES.
